Doing some work in our 80 year old barn. We decided to take out part of a wall and put in a door. This section had a small hole in it, most likely caused by a horse kick given the location and size. No idea how long it had been there but judging by this pile many many years. Birds thought it was a great place for a nest but unfortunately many never made it back out. This pile is approximately 15”x15” and 2” thick. So far we have found mice, bees, wasps, birds and snakes in different walls/buildings here.
