What a gorgeous summer it was at the Loon! Autumn colors are starting! Fall rental dates open. Bring your own UTV, boat, bikes. Renters are welcome to take out our paddle board or kayak. Crystal Lake is a quiet lake, you can meander through the channel for full access to the Three Lakes Chain of 19 Lakes.

Chain of lake swim adventure, lake # 5! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Deer Lake 7-8-24.
On this cloudy morning with the air at 62 degrees, the wildlife was also appreciating the quiet. A heron was fishing as we rode the channel to our start, our favorite family of little ducks, maybe Teals? were living their best life.
When I was swimming, my fabulous captain, Tim Collins, said the loons were flying overhead and singing to me (at least I tell myself they were).
Water temp. was a balmy 73.2.

I had to work on my mental ninja skills because I swore I felt something moving under me
a few times. In my mind it was a big Muskie, maybe the Muskie that the cool pier sign in one of these pictures was referring to 😱😱. Really it was probably more the current as nothing ate my toes!
The water was beautifully quiet and flat, although really dark this am which makes for no visibility when I have my head down.

Such a gorgeous 4th weekend!!!
Medicine lake swim was therapeutic (no pun intended). 🤣 The water temperature changed often, brisk in some spots 🥶 with it being deep but nice and warm most of the time, 71.8 degrees. We started a little later than planned, 9:45 am, so lake was getting a little busy by the end. It was a fabulous finish with my new friends who have the pink flamingo floaty near Pikes Pine Isle, cheering me in!! Thank you who ever you are! 🤩
Medicine is such a big lake, I swam over a mile on northwest end and we still didn’t make it half way around!
This is yet another example of one of our idyllic northern lakes on the chain, a shoreline full of beautiful homes (I loved the A-frame), docks, boat houses and swim platforms camouflaged in a green canopy of pines!
