Spring Skiing Tips from Sawtooth Outfitters in Tofte
Spring skiing on the North Shore - from the cross country trails to the lakes and of course, Lutsen Mountains - skiing can extend well into April if conditions are right. Sarah from Sawtooth Outfitters has some great tips for making the most of what remains of skiing on a trail system like the Sugarbush Trail Association. Happy spring skiing!
Grooming will continue only as conditions allow and will be assesed on a day by day basis. However, the most trails remain open unless otherwise stated. Always check conditions before heading out on the trail:

Good morning from just outside Grand Marais MN
Isn't it amazing how after a few days of double digits below 0 that it can feel warm and cozy at only 6F?! How lovely it was this morning... January is such a great month for shoreline ice development. Natural ice sculptures changing daily, it always a few experience.
Weather is moving in over the lake.
June 29, 2017 - wild north shore rivers
Recent rains have made the rivers and streams really flow! A beautiful time to come up and wander through the forest.
While the fresh ice and snow were not necessarily what we were looking for, it really is beautiful! A great time to go waterfalling
March 30, 2017 - Middle Falls on the Cascade River.
The Cascade River on Thursday, March 30. Still frozen but flowing!
Winter has some beautiful little moments, doesn't it?!
