Humble and grateful….

Renee Holman and I are gratified to have been embraced by the community, friends, and customers that became friends. Our “Adventure” has been so amazing.

The Adventure Motel has been sold to a local family who shares similar values.
Nora Fourez will be taking over operations next week. Look for some pretty cool stuff to happen !!

PORTAGE BRIDGE CLOSURE!!

Beginning tomorrow Monday, March 7th, MDOT will be performing some testing on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge. This testing will require that the snow mat be removed Monday 3/7 between 7am-12pm. No traffic will be allowed to pass across the bridge while this removal is occuring. The trail will re-open to traffic as soon as it is safe to do so.

The testing requires the gates to be closed and snowmobile crossing to be restricted from 10pm-5:30 am on the 7th, 8th and possibly the 9th.

Sleds will be allowed to cross from 5:30 am - 10pm on these days. However, the snow mat will no longer be in place. The snow mat will be replaced after the testing has been completed by MDOT between 7am-12pm. Then the groomer will be grooming the trail

To prepare for this testing, the KSC will be removing snow with each grooming pass to reduce depth of snow. Signs will be in place to warn of any height changes in the trail to keep riders safe. As always, please ride with caution.

We would like to thank MDOT, the City of Houghton, and the DNR for the coordinated effort to open and close this trail through the testing process.

Please plan your trips accordingly and we will update as anything changes
