Frequent Travel: 69.7% of families travel 11+ times a year for sports events, often venturing over 50 miles away!

Economic Impact: Topeka families spend an estimated $7.1 million annually on sports-related travel, highlighting a crucial opportunity for local investment.

We are so happy to announce that Topeka has been chosen as the host site for the N.A.I.A. Cheer and Dance National Championships in 2026 & 2027.

The NAIA has selected Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka, Kansas, along with Visit Topeka and Baker University (Kan.), as hosts for the 2026 and 2027 NAIA Cheer and Dance National Championships.

Summer Recap: Topeka’s Sports Tourism is on Fire!

This summer, Topeka played host to an impressive range of sporting events! From national to regional, the Capital City saw thousands of visitors flock to the area. With 81,000 people attending events, the length of stay rose to 2 days, and strong participation in marquee events like the Sunflower State Games, Major League Quadball, and KSHSAA State Events.
