This week, we are hosting a Columbus-based business with employees working in the area. They'll have a cozy, spacious place to return to each evening. And hopefully get to enjoy some of the great local restaurants and breweries.

Very honored to have my dad's photo included in the Historical Society of Toronto, Ohio's upcoming gallery opening featuring award-winning Toronto photographer, Dale Holtzmann.

This portrait was hung over the fireplace in our home soon after it was taken, around 1977, and has remained there, welcoming guests of the inn for the past 18 years. It was taken when, after a long day of work, Don Damewood stopped by the Holtzman studio to take care of a quick electrical repair and Dale asked if he would pose for a few pictures. Don asked if he could go home and "clean up", but that was not what Dale was after. The photo went on to win a handful of awards for Mr. Holtzmann, who also took Cassie Damewood's senior pictures in 1970 and our wedding photos in 1990.

The photo gallery will be held on Sunday, October 13th and Sunday, October 20th, from 1 to 3 p.m. and on Tuesday evenings, October 15th, 22nd and 29th from 4 to 6 p.m. The Historical Society of Toronto, Ohio is located in the Karaffa Recreation Center, located at 1307 Dennis Way, in Toronto. There is no charge for admission but the Historical Society happily accepts donations.

Love to share great service by local businesses. Pest Detective in Wintersville and Cool Beans Handyman Services were both at my house and The Inn At Brandywine this week and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work and the price. I've been using both businesses for a while now and am always confident about the end result. I love moving things off of MY to-do list and on to someone else's:)

We are so excited to be coming up on our 18th birthday this coming June. It's hard to believe that we hosted our very first guests way back in June of 2006 - and now have welcomed hundreds of people from 29 states, in addition to Canada, Europe, Australia and more.

It highlights some of the great changes to the property in the past few years, both inside and out, gives a nod to our history and even includes an aerial video so you can truly get a bird's eye view of our secluded and peaceful place.
