👻🎃 It’s Friday the 13th and spooky season is upon us. If you’re looking for a ghoulishly good time, join us at Marina Spooktacular … Halloween by the Harbor!

👀 There’s fun and scares for all ages, but the frights intensify as night falls over Burton Chace Park in Marina del Rey during this two-day festival.

💫 DETAILS:
Event Dates: Sat–Sun, October 26–27

Event Hours: 4 PM–10 PM

Cost: Admission is FREE with RSVP, but a Liability Waiver Form* is required for each participant**.

* Online Waivers | For Fastest Entry: RSVP on Eventbrite to accept the online liability waiver and we’ll scan your tickets. Or bring your completed Liability Waiver forms with you. Otherwise, you can fill out a form in person.

**Minors must be listed on a Liability Waiver Form signed by their parent/guardian.

Here’s another one that's great for summer to try from the galley:
🥑 🍓 Avocado Strawberry Mango Salad
“Bright and flavorful avocado strawberry mango salsa for dipping chips or adding to salads, tacos, fish, or chicken!”

Ingredients:
1 cup diced strawberries (a little more than a half pound of strawberries)
1 cup diced ripe mango (from 2 large mangoes)
1 avocado, diced
1 jalapeno, seeded and diced
2 tablespoons finely diced red onion
2-3 tablespoons diced cilantro
1 small lime, juiced
1/4 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
For serving:
Multigrain pita chips, for serving/dipping

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix to combine. Garnish with extra cilantro. Serve with pita chips for dipping. Also great served on salmon, fish tacos or shrimp. Serves 4-6. Double the recipe to serve 10-12

Sobre Las Olas | 105' Classic 1929

Nella, office manager at Portside Ventura Harbor Marina had the unique experience of a personal tour of Sobre Las Olas a 1929, 105' Wilmington Boat Works Motor Yacht. Vessel details: Built in Wilmington, CA with an unlimited budget. Two of her famous owners were J. Paul Getty and William Randolph Hearst. She has undergone renovations and was in charter between Seattle, WA and Alaska. At present, she is one of the largest antique classics on the West Coast. The current owners have since added a superstructure over the back deck, installed new wiring and plumbing throughout, but decided to keep the original 1929 Atlas Imperial diesel engines. It is said that there are only four of these engines left in existence to this day. A similarly constructed engine from the same era currently sits in the Smithsonian Institute.
