Our hearts and prayers go out to the flood devestated areas affected by Hurricane Helene in east TN and North Carolina.
Thankfully, our cabin and the areas of Pigeon Forge and Townsend were not damaged from the storm.

Most of the damage is in Newport going east into North Carolina. I-40 is not usable, and you can not travel across it as it’s missing road beds and bridges.
Please do not attempt to go through Asheville or the surrounding areas. The damage to infrastructure in those areas is unprecedented. I-75 is safe to travel on.

The park will host the annual synchronous firefly viewing opportunity at Elkmont from Monday, June 3 through Monday, June 10.

The public may apply for the limited viewing opportunity by entering a lottery for a vehicle reservation through www.recreation.gov. The lottery opens for reservation applications on Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. EDT and closes Monday, April 29 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
