We wanted to take a second to highlight why guests searching for a vacation rental should always take an extra moment to verify whether a direct booking option exists. We offer our locations across a few domains, but none of them come close to offering the rates that are available through the direct booking on our website. Without naming names, the first two price breakdowns reflect two hosting sites we list on for the same exact dates. The third shows the same dates on our website. Take that extra step and spend the difference at one of the many nearby wineries on your next visit!

When we stepped out of the door this morning, autumn waved at us with a momentary crisp in the air to let us know she’s right around the corner. The old-timer we bought wood from shared that he believes this winter will be a cold one. That could just be a marketing strategy by someone who sells fuel for fires, but we prefer to view it as old wisdom from a local. Either way, we’re stocked up on complimentary firewood for the fireplaces, wood stoves, and fire-pits! Come enjoy s’mores season!

Freedom Groove Lodge is a hidden gem. My wife and I had the perfect one night getaway. Out of many Air B&B, the hosts at freedom lodge make it above and beyond the others I have stayed at. The amenities are very unique and thoughtful. The cabin was clean and stocked with all the necessities. There is fire wood and kindling available to make yourself a fire in the wood stove, or mini splits that keep the cabin comfortable if making a fire is not your thing. The cabin is just half the experience though, the location and views around the property that you have access to, such as a short trail, a pond, fire pit and hammock all complete the experience of staying in a cabin in the woods. We cannot recommend any more, go check it out.

We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful retreat. Jeff was more than accommodating and thoughtful (farm fresh eggs and s'mores supplies were unexpected and delicious). The yurt had all the comforts of home, yet the outdoor experience was very present. The outdoor area was comfortable. We were able to easily set up our own projector and have movie and game nights. The drive to Stone Mountain State Park was an easy 4 minute commute. No doubt that we will be back.

Updates on the bridge! Since we purchased this property and started FGL, there were concerns about the safety of the bridge leading to the cabin that so many have come to visit and love. We finally made the much needed upgrades and were able to recycle most of the lumber back into the bridge. Fresh lighting has now been installed and we couldn’t be happier with the new look!
