Welcome Paige Leigh Csizmadia to the Wind Dancer Traverse City Tours team! Paige holds a degree in Earth Sciences and Environmental Science from the University of Michigan. She’s a talented percussionist who loves exploring nature, music, and art. A native Michigander, she’s very much looking forward to breezy days on the bay and the killer sunsets we're known for!

Wind Dancer is excited to welcome back Captain Michele Derouin to the 2024 team. Captain Michele loves to make people's dreams come true on the water. No one rolls out the welcome mat like she does! She has been on or near the water since her early years as a child. From those early days she grew to appreciate a deeper connection to the natural world. Michele has worked on boats from Detroit to Duluth spending land and sea time with several other commercial vessels on the West Bay. She enjoys time with her husband on their historic Suttons Bay homestead when she isn’t on the water.

Welcome Captain Nate Berkebile to the Wind Dancer Traverse City Tours team! Throughout his life Capt. Nate has fallen in love with being in and on the water. His most recent adventures have been in the Florida Keys captaining a 46’ Corinthian for Sole Watersports. Capt. Nate and his wife Erica are both marine scientists who love to travel experiencing new cultures and lands. He’s also a bit of a history buff on pirates and is sure to share a tale or two! While his primary experience and education is with coral biology throughout the Florida reef tract, he’s excited to dive in (figuratively and literally) learning about Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay’s ecology and history. They are very excited to be near family and begin a new chapter in their lives! Welcome Capt. Nate and Erica.

We’re excited to announce that Captain Christopher Buday has accepted the Master Captain position at Wind Dancer Traverse City Tours. It’s an understatement to say that he has more water than blood flowing through his veins! Having spent his life on the water sailing, in his personal and professional life, protecting the water during his tenure as Directore of Public Works for the Grand Traverse County and Vice President of Water Operations for New York American Water. In fact his passion for water runs so deep in his DNA he joined the Navy after college, retiring as Commander. Armed with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a licensed attorney, you can be confident that you'll have a safe and enjoyable time while experiencing West Bay. With a gift for gab, Chris is a well-rounded geek, he has an extensive knowledge of local history so don't be shy with questions. You'll end up not only having a great time, but ready to win a TC trivia contest.

Leading the hospitality experience for Wind Dancer Traverse City Tours, Chris is steeped in the wine industry where he has spent more than twenty years making wine on both the Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas. His winemaking skills have taken him to Tennessee, Oregon, and three years crafting Pinot Noir in New Zealand. Chris enjoys cooking, cycling, and exploring local food, wine, beer, and cider.
