Reviewing these pics warmed my heart and soul as the depressing snow that started on Thanksgiving has not gone away. Most of it lake effect which means I have Lake Michigan all the way to my doorstep!

I didn't have to look hard to find these pics from this past summer.

40" of snow in a week!?! Wow!
Today would be a perfect day to get on the perch we had located.
However, won't be able to get my boat out for several days.
I did work on the ramp today and it's ready to use. These warmer temps will help.

I am very thankful for alot--too much to list.

But possibly spending my last Thanksgiving with the boys Yank and Duke. I will take them for as many walks as they want today.

We are back! Upgrading equipment is usually a February job for us but for several reasons we did it this fall.
We have had our inspections and are within a day or two of getting back to taking folks fishing.
Fishing hadn't stopped but the guiding had.
I won't take time now on any fish details but to say if winds allow us to fish big smallies and big perch are available.
I am saddened to find out my 14 year-old old Brittany has a heart issue and I am spending as much time as possible doing light exercise with him and his 15 year-old bro.

Following one of the best new moons we've experienced it was expected that the frenzied bite would fade and return to normal.
Less than perfect winds required perfect presentations this week. Our friends adjusted and had numbers but only a couple fives were boated. The two to four pounders continued to show regularly. Best day this week was 45 smallies in six hours.
Fun days on the water.

Quiet Cove jigheads (available at Jacks, D and R or at Quiet Cove direct) were very beneficial.
The real MVP is the moon phase. More talk about that when this slows down. Maybe December!?!

Sounds like a broken record but another pair of fishermen not only get big numbers but also big fish. 5.24 was biggest out of the 35 caught. Father and daughter were very efficient in the summer method and very fun to fish with. Great day!

An old friend from Indiana and a new friend with Indiana ties set out for Day Two of midsummer smallmouth fishing. As you know from yesterday's post Day One was unbelievably good.
And Day Two did not disappoint as a 5.96 lber came on board with one other over 5 and three others over 4. And we had numbers again with personal bests each day!
