“I think it's a part of my job to create memories for people, and even if it's just a little thing that we're doing like this, I think it will make a big difference for people, so I couldn't be more happy about it,” said Chef Goldstein.

We may be new to the bike industry, but we have decades of experience in customer safety and satisfaction.

We also have heard some feedback from guests over the years and are working to reduce visitor frustration wherever we can.

Each Fat tire ebike rental comes with a complimentary:

Backpack 🎒
Bottle of water 💧
First aid kit ❤️
Poncho 🌧
Acadia map- not just a photo print

That's pretty RAD, just like our more stable fat tire bikes built for Acadias gravel carriage roads!

Acadia’s regularly scheduled night skies programs will continue through October 1st on Sunday and Thursday nights at 8:00pm on Sand Beach, no reservation needed. Wear warm clothes, bring a blanket to lay on, and your curiosity for the stars and beyond.

This Thursday, Sept 21st, there will be an additional short program at 7:00pm at Sand Beach by a visiting Volunteer in the Parks, Trisha Randazzo. She will talk about our solar system and galaxy, how her early interests in these subjects led to her profession as an engineer at NASA, and career tips for aspiring astronomers.

There are plenty of hikes along the coast of Maine that end in a beautiful scenic lookout without venturing into Acadia National Park.

Are you planning a visit to Acadia National Park? Before you get here, it's important to know the difference between an entrance pass for the whole park, and a vehicle reservation just to drive up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. You can buy both before you leave home at Recreation.gov.

Please be aware of the potential for extreme weather conditions Friday night into Saturday for eastern Maine and Acadia National Park.

The National Weather Service is currently tracking Hurricane Fiona toward eastern Nova Scotia. Any westward shift would lead to much higher impacts for eastern Maine.

Northwest wind gusts of 50 mph are possible, which could lead to downed trees and power outages. There is potential for coastal erosion due to large breaking waves around high tides, especially Saturday morning.

Locally heavy rainfall on Thursday, which may cause minor flooding in areas of poor drainage, is not related to Fiona.

The spectacular Perseid meteor shower has begun dazzling Acadia’s dark night sky with “shooting stars.”

From July 14 to August 24 the earth will pass through the tail of the Comet Swift -Tuttle, and on August 11 and 12 the shower will peak. Although this year the meteor shower will compete with a full moon, there will still be a chance to see these beautiful fire balls in the sky.

The Comet Swift-Tuttle is the largest celestial body known to pass by the earth yearly. As we pass through the tail of this comet, we actually will be seeing debris from the comet entering the earth’s atmosphere and burning up. This causes brilliant streaks of light to shoot across the sky at 37 miles per second, according to NASA.

Where to Look: Around the Perseus Constellation in the northern sky

When: Best time is the dark pre-dawn hours

Wake up early, grab your coffee and a blanket, and head to an ocean overlook in the park for a memory making moment!
