TB-almost T to when we closed down Bar of America (just until next week) with a great party! Thanks to Tom Turner and staff for hosting our Truckee Chamber October Networking Mixer in style, with delicious passed appetizers and charcuterie, as well as great signature drinks and wine to celebrate their new addition. We were able to check out the "before" of the space that they are annexing. Renovations will allow for even bigger gatherings; construction will be done next week. They are accepting reservations for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays now!

There is currently a prescribed burn underway at Waddle Ranch. CAL FIRE plans to continue a broadcast burn in the Waddle Ranch area of Placer County near the Truckee Tahoe Airport District November 7th, 8th and possibly the 9th. The planned burn will treat 75 acres.
Each prescribed fire operation follows a specialized burn plan, where temperature, humidity, wind, moisture of vegetation and smoke dispersal conditions are considered daily. This information is used to decide if and when to burn.
Prescribed fires help reduce fuels and overgrowth, which reduces the severity of future wildfires, restores forest health and diversity and provides added protection for surrounding communities. Smoke produced from planned prescribed burns is less than unplanned wildfires. Prescribed fire now can prevent the impacts or spread of wildfire later.

We believe it's year-round, but now through the end of the year is officially SMALL BUSINESS SEASON. When you shop, dine, and use local services, $68 out of every $100 spent locally stays in our community. And our small businesses are essential to the mountain lifestyle that we love. When you get your gear from a local shop, you get advice and service that you can't get online. Shop local, Truckee-Tahoe!

Today we celebrated a new era for Tahoe Dave's Skis & Boards and the most extreme ribbon cutting we've witnessed! Truckee Chamber CEO and President Jessica Penman, staff, and Board of Directors, Tahoe Dave's staff, Mayor Dave Polivy, Town Manager Jen Callaway and staff participated in the official Ribbon Cutting, where Dave passed on the torch to Autumn and John Lincoln, keeping the decades-long business local and family-owned. It took a collaborative and elevated approach by the owners to get the stubborn ribbon to cut with the oversized novelty scissors.
We've gotten to know Autumn and John because of their involvement in community events since returning to Tahoe with their daughter, Sage. Congratulations to all and continued success to Tahoe Dave's Skis and Boards!
