Ma Nature put on another stunner of a show today, this time leaving these two brothers from Switzerland in awe. It's always a magical time on the bike, meeting folks from around the globe, and connecting over a common bond of riding. Our team thrives on days like these - sharing stories, smiles, and miles of singletrack while making friends in such a spectacular setting.

We're downsizing the rental fleet and have a few bikes looking for new homes. These are Giant Reign 29er aluminum enduro bikes and have ~500 miles on them at the most. Brakes, drivetrain and suspension are all dialed and in tip top shape. We've got a medium and and extra large available. $2,000 for an amazing entry-mid level enduro bike. You can even try before you buy with some great trails a stone's throw from our shop door.

After a historic winter with more snow than we bargained for, our season of bike-based antics will get a slightly delayed start while we wait for the dirt to return to the surface. It’s time for some warmth and two wheelin' adventures so let’s hope Ma Nature delivers some sunshine these next few weeks! The mountain and gravel riding down in the Sierra foothills is splendid right now and well worth the drive for anyone in search of soil. We've got a handful of seats remaining for this Friday's collab event with the gang over at brewing. For $35 you'll nab yourself a shuttle up to Donner Summit, a post-ride pint of beer, and more importantly raise some funds for the Truckee Donner Land Trust! Vans are launching from the brewery at 3:30 this Friday so join us for an afternoon of pedaling, pints and proceed farmin'! With the kick off of summer, it's time to add some new trails to your wishlist. There's no shortage of mind-blowing routes sprinkled around Lake Tahoe, such as the iconic and re-worked masterpiece known as Stanford Rock. A long and gradual climb winds its way up to one of the most epic lake views around! Happy Solstice y'all ☀️ Longest day of the year, you say? That's all we needed to send us off into the high alpine. Today's off the radar route featured heaps of climbs, techy descents, hike-a-bikes, epic views, snow surfing, and some delicious dirt ribbons we floated our tires across. We'd lose the trail, find the trail, laugh, high five, run out of water, then filter some more. Summer is here and there's countless adventures we're stoked to keep mixing it up with. Go get it!

There's nothing better than experiencing improvement. Making a recipe for the 5th time and having it blow your mind, perfecting that acoustic version of Thriller on guitar, staying calm when your kid dumps juice on the cat's head, or (our favorite) being able to nail that technical climb on your favorite trail that always seems to haunt you.

That's right, most of the State's National Forests are re-opening tomorrow (Thursday), including Tahoe & Plumas 🤘🏽🙏🏼 It's been a rugged, warm and volatile summer in the Sierra and we are excited to return to some bike-based adventurin' with y'all before winter comes a knockin'. Grab your bike, do some stretching and get back to the dirt when you can.

The air is clean this morning and skies are blue so take in this splendor for a few more days...and make plans to recreate outside of our National Forests in the weeks ahead. Things are heating up 👇🏼

"To better provide public and firefighter safety due to extreme fire conditions throughout northern California, and strained firefighting resources throughout the country, the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region is announcing a temporary closure of nine National Forests. This closure will be effective at August 22, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. through September 6, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
More than 6,500 wildfires have burned 1.2 million acres across all jurisdictions in California, and the Northern California Geographic Area has been at Preparedness Level 5 since Aug. 5, 2021 – indicating the highest level of wildland fire activity."
California is experiencing a rough start to fire season with no end in sight. Dirt Gypsy will monitor air quality and other factors over the next few days and determine if it makes sense to halt our operations while this time passes. Stay safe out there and dig those tires in the dirt while you still can!
