Dating back to 1350, the city’s temples, especially Wat Chaiwatthanaram, were a source of inspiration for many of the famous temples located around the country.

Today Ayutthaya is UNESCO World Heritage city and provides visitors with a glimpse into the past and allows for a better understanding of the historical relationship between the people of Thailand and Buddha.

What are you looking forward to experiencing while in Thailand?

What I appreciate about Thailand is that it is so diverse. Buddhism is a key component of the identity of Thailand.

Over 95% of the country is Buddhist, and everywhere you'll see daily reminders of the religion during your travels. From glittering temples to small sanctuaries, the presence of Buddha is everywhere.

In Bangkok, you can see some of the country's most ornate temple complexes that are actively run by the monks. The oldest and largest temple in Bangkok, Wat Pho, or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is quite possibly one of the most famous temples in all of Thailand.

Just be sure to dress appropriately before heading to a temple as it is considered religious ground.

Nothing would be more authentic than enjoying Thai cuisine in it's native country. I know for me, I would be excited to taste the authenticity right there in Thailand!

Once you've tried an authentic Thai soup like Tom Yum or Tom Kai, you'll understand why Thai soups are popular all year round. Known for not only their flavor but also their health benefits, these famous soups have been part of Thai culture for centuries. When in Bangkok, you can find these delicious soups almost anywhere. Give it a try, but be sure to tell your waiter if you can't handle the spice!

Did you know that there are over 40,000 Buddhist temples in Thailand?

If you're a cultural and history buff, this just might be the icing on the cake during your Thai vacation. Stepping into a Buddhist temple in Thailand could transform you.

Some of them are centuries old and very grand and ornate, while others are small and modest. Whether you're interested in religion, architecture, history, or just seeing the sights, the temples of Thailand are unlike any other structures in the world.

The temple of the reclining Buddha in Bangkok is perhaps the most well known, as it features a 150ft long gold statue of Buddha.

Near Chaing Rai, you will find the newer yet equally impressive "White Temple." Built in 1997, this privately owned temple is a modern take on the classic temple structure.

Are you getting excited?

Tuk-tuks are more than just an iconic symbol of Bangkok. They are also a super-efficient way to get around!

Bangkok is a sprawling metropolis, and sometimes it's not convenient to walk. These three-wheeled, open-air taxis are perfect for going from one site to the next while also taking in the city view.

Characterized by their bright colors, riding a tuk-tuk is part of the Bangkok experience. Just be sure to negotiate your price with your driver before the ride starts to avoid overpaying.
