With 30+ years as a Registered Nurse and Health Educator (M.Ed.), I’ve always been passionate about “whole-person well-being” (mind, body, spirit). My diverse experience has focused on integrative health, worksite wellness, curriculum development, critical care, medical navigation, and behavioral health. I received specialized training as an independent RN Patient Advocate in 2010, and since that
time, have operated my own business helping patient-clients navigate the medical system and explore options for informed healthcare choice. My professional career has always shown me the importance of empathic, collaborative communication with colleagues and the patients we care for. My passion for improving healthcare communication attracted me to the first Medical Improv “train the trainer” intensive at Chicago’s Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in 2013. Please contact me to discuss the Medical Improv workshops colleagues and I continue to offer in diverse, international healthcare settings. As health professionals, the importance of excellent self-care habits is rarely emphasized and supported. I helped establish one of the first hospital-based Integrative Health departments in the U.S. and enthusiastically promoted holistic health retreats for nurses. I continue to collaborate with colleagues to offer workshops that encourage creative self-care strategies for expression and enjoyment.
