I had a great time meeting a fellow foodie and we both got to experience something we had never tried together. The burrito was amazing and packed with flavorful, fresh ingredients. A new bar has been set. The truck only serves breakfast on Sundays from 10-1, and also features some amazing looking red or green chilequiles, which I will try next time. The food truck serves the rest of their menu Thursday-Sunday. Pocket-sized burritos! Pre-made, fast, convenient, cheap… sometimes that’s all you need! I didn’t score these because they’re in a category all their own, but now you know where to grab a pack. I like to get them the day before a road trip, so I don’t have to cook or waste time at the drive thru when I’m trying to get on the road. (Paid on my own) This burrito scored over a 90! Only the third burrito to accomplish this feat! The carne asada meat was very flavorful, and the eggs were fluffy and not overcooked (I’ve been getting dried out eggs a lot on this quest for the best). The salsas tho…. (Comped) Mr Patron had me and the fam out for lunch. This place is like 3 food truck menus at one stop. They have traditional sushi, rolls with cooked ingredients, burgers, burritos, etc, etc! For dessert we got a slice of cake that the owners wife made. The menu items are mash-ups of different cultures/food types that are very interesting and I’ve never seen or tasted before. (Paid on my own) Fratelli’s Expresso down in the Oh-Five was the next stop in my quest for the best breakfast burrito in Tucson. It was recommended by several people, and once again, your recommendations were spot-on! They make their own chorizo here, so that’s what I had to try, and it was delicious. The burrito came in under $10 and weighed over one pound! (Paid on my own) my next stop on my quest for Tucson’s best breakfast burrito took me to @ameliastucson Tortilla: 17/20 Filling: 30/30 Salsa: 20/20 Weight: 14.74oz/pts Cost: $12.72 = 7.28pts Total Score: 89.02 (Anything around 90pts is great!) I went here thanks to some of the recommendations I received in the comments, and the people did not let me down. The waitress recommended the machaca, and it was phenomenal. The potatoes were cooked perfectly, the ratios of the different ingredients were nicely balanced, and the salsas were flavorful. I can’t wait to go back to try some of there other menu items. There is an amazing variety of vendors, including a spot where you can purchase famous local murals printed on everything from canvas to coffee mugs. This place was started by two brothers and one of their friends as a food truck, and now they have a brick and mortar up in Oro Valley. They have all the staples you’d expect to see at a barbecue place, but also some unexpected dishes, like 3 different types of deviled eggs, and Dickman’s “ugly steak”! This has to be one of the best spots in Oro Valley to take a large group of family/friends for dinner. They have something for everybody.
