Does the resort or hotel you stay at matter to you?
Finding the perfect resort is a delicate balance between your budget, travel style, and having your ears to the ground.
Sometimes clients come to me with resorts and hotels on their list that I know for a fact just won’t work for them, either from having stayed there myself or hearing about experiences from my worldwide network of travel industry connections.
One thing my clients can always count on is my honest opinion and tailored recommendations based on how they like to travel and the places they’ve loved in the past.
That extra intel I pass onto them makes all the difference in where they decide to stay.

The Hotel Hierarchy
Ever heard of it? I hadn’t either until I came into the travel industry.
You won’t know it on the surface, but where you book and who you book your hotel with matters. A Travel Agent can book you in any of these categories.
Tier 1: Book with a Travel Agent who has industry connections
Tier 2: Book directly with the hotel
Tier 3: Book online (Expedia, Rate Hawk, etc.)
Why does any of this matter? If you like getting surprise room upgrades, spa credits, and other special perks, you’re going to want to book with a Travel Agent, and if you want overall great service, you’re definitely going to want to be in tier 2.
Tier 3 is where things get dicey. Usually no refunds, no perks, or getting bumped if the hotel is overbooked.
