Join us as we celebrate Robert βBobβ Carl Bailey, founder of WZZA Radio, with the unveiling of a historical marker designating First Street as Bob Carl Bailey Memorial Drive. The ceremony will occur during the Town of Leighton's annual SledgeFest on Saturday, June 8th.
Bob Carl Bailey, a Leighton native, made history as the first African American to own an FCC-licensed radio station in northwest Alabama and much more.

The Christmas Train at Spring Park in Tuscumbia operates 4-8 p.m. daily (weather permitting) through Christmas Eve. Tickets are $4 per person. The fountain and light show - set to Christmas music - at the park, is presented at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily. For more details, call 256-389-1357.
It's 35 degrees in Tuscumbia, but the fountain at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame still has plenty of ice to remind of how cold it's been in the Shoals.
