For our Friday morning trip a good friend and repeat customer Mark, made the trip from Duluth to fish and site see around Two Rivers. He brought out a new guy, Bob, to reel in some Lake Michigan salmon. He did an outstanding job and Mark never disappoints keeping everyone entertained between the fish bite.

Water temp on the surface was warm but had a good thermocline down 70 feet. Reports said deep water was working. Had to run deeper than our normal trips but everything worked out. The strong west wind at the end of the trip and most of the day might change things up..

Thanks Mark and Bob for a good morning of fishing. Have fun with the wives sightseeing and a safe trip back to Duluth.
Hope to see you next year.

Well another weekend is in the books for Chasin Tail Charters.

We took off for two weeks to do our first oversees trip. Now it was back to business on Lake Michigan.
Thursday took out a couple friends to make sure everything was in order on the boat and a little practice setting lines with my good friend and dock partner Brian. Need to work him into the first mate spot when Casey or Josh would be not available.
From everyone we talked with before heading out, the fishing slowed down a lot and a northeast wind that blew the day before was not a promising report to say the least.
Thursday night 4:30 pm to 7:45pm. One hit on a downrigger was all we had to start with for Friday morning trip.
Friday morning’s weather was in our favor so we worked the waypoint from the day before. Nothing fast and furious, but we put some good fish in the boat.
Saturday morning trip we decided to work the same water with very similar results. Action was good but shut down at 7:30 am both days. So get out early.
Thanks Josh and Brian for filling in on the first mate position. Thanks Brandon and Cal for booking and see you next year.

Sorry I didn’t get all the pics as we usually do, but a little busy working baits to get on fish. 🐟

At the beginning of the week, it looked like old Mother Nature was not planning for a weekend of fishing out of Two Rivers. After talking it over with my good friend and repeat customer, the group decided to roll the dice and make the 5 1/2 hour drive to fish out of Two Rivers.
Well, Friday A.M we managed to get a limit just before the wind really picked up. Plus a bonus of 2 more on the pick up. Bumpy ride back to the dock with a stiff south breeze to make it interesting.
Decided to watch the weather and see if Saturday morning would be a go. Fortunately, the 3am weather forecast looked promising with winds diminishing by 6am. Decent size swells from the night before but more than fishable. Plus for a Saturday very little boats ventured out. We set lines at 4:30am. Decent action as soon as we set in. Had our limit by 8am.
Thanks John for all the snacks and good stories between the fish bite.
See ya next year. 🎣🐠🐟

Due to a late cancellation Friday morning I was able to do some pre-fishing with my parents and daughter. The weather was cooperative, and the fishing and action was steady. My first mate (her brother) and my daughter were able to bring in a 25 lbs king. This trip allowed me to fill up my own freezer. Haha.

CTC ran 2 trips and a fun run to get Father’s Day’s dinner for my First Mate Josh and his crew. We had good water to work with, and an even better bunch of people onboard this weekend. We had a blast catching some nice fish and enjoying everyone stories and food. I hope to do it again next year! I would like to thank Cool City Charters “Capt Erik” for a great fishing report, which makes my weekend just a little easier to get on fish. 🎣 Thanks Dustin and Dennis for booking with Chasin’Tail Charters.

Happy Anniversary bear,

The happily married pair have journey together on life's path for 32 years. They have travelled across every type of surface from the rough to the smooth and have experienced the same joyful sights and the same frustrating delays.
That’s Google of course.
Now Kevin,
I have had the pleasure and pain at times to have you by my side for 32 years.
I truly enjoy frustrating you, making you laugh, and at times making you sad but I wouldn’t mind another 32 years.
Love you bunches.

Took repeat customers/friends out for two trips this weekend. The fishing continued to be better than average. The weather wasn’t the best with some rough seas which made it tricky to get our limit but we managed to pull it out. Got a few in the 20lb range which made for a nice cooler. Saturdays forecast with a west wind seemed to be promising but old Mother Nature had something else in mind with 2-4 ft waves. We couldn’t work the same water as the day before, but we managed to find an active school of rainbow that kept us entertained and got another nice cooler full. Thanks guys for coming all the way from Duluth to fish with us. Safe travels home. Hope to see you next year! Captain Kevin and First Mate Casey.

Chasin’ Tail had another great weekend of fishing. We started off with some repeat customers, joining us Friday morning for the first day of their two day trip. Friday night, First Mate Josh brought some friends, Joe, Kali and Ireland along with his daughter Madelynn out for some fun fishing. Saturday back on the water to finish the 2 day of fishing. Thanks John, Jim and Deven for an outstanding morning. Can’t wait to see you next year.
I think a fun time was had by all.
Josh and I want to say thank you and hope to see you again!

Well, another weekend in the books for Chasin’ Tail charters. Thursday p.m. and Friday a.m., we had a fun group of guys that we fished 5 years ago who decided to come back up from Missouri to fish Lake Michigan. Both days the weather and salmon bite continued to be excellent out of the Port of the Two Rivers. We went 9 for 11 on the Thursday pm trip. Friday morning it didn’t take more than 10 mins to get the skunk out of the boat. Good action most of the morning ending 13 for 17.
Saturday morning we had a good friend of mine and his grandson come out and fish. Once again that morning bite was on fire. More than enough fish to reel in between the two of them. The fish did shut off very quickly after 7am. Thanks again Cal for moving up your charter date to help me out. We look forward to the trip in July. Thanks Erik “Cool City Charter” for the info you supply me ever week and all my friends who help keep us on fish week to week.
