💚 Sea turtle nesting season starts TODAY, MAY 1! It runs through Oct 31st. 🌊 🐢 🏖️ From nesting to hatching and their mad dash to the sea, the process of nesting is incredible to witness. Every year Leatherbacks, Loggerheads & Green Sea Turtles (and sometimes a wayward Kemps Ridley) return to our beaches to lay their clutches of eggs.

PLEASE remember to leave your flashlight at home when walking the beach this summer and early fall, and turn off any porch/patio lights if visible from the beach. If you must use a light, use a red light! You can buy them on Amazon and even some local gift shops carry them or put a red cellophane film over your normal light.

With your help, we can ensure these beautiful creatures have the best chance at laying a successful nest. One of the most important things to remember is that bright white lights disturb both the nesting females and hatching babies, so PLEASE remember to leave your flashlight at home when walking the beach this summer and early fall, and turn off any porch/patio lights if visible from the beach.
