Picked up some new furniture for the living room for Tybee Turtle Time Condo! 🐢 Check out Clearly Coastal on Hilton Head for some great costal themed furniture. She even does painting classes with 🍷 wine! I’ll add a picture later when it makes it to the condo!

The FIRST nest has HATCHED! It was a race to the sea this past weekend! :-)

*SEA TURTLE NEST EXCAVATION; JULY 10 @ 6PM*

We are officially entering "sea turtle hatching season!" after our first hatchlings of the summer emerged this weekend.

Join us for a rare opportunity to see our Sea Turtle Project in action!
On Wednesday, July 10th at 6:00 pm, you can attend a brief presentation on sea turtles and learn about what the sea turtle project does to protect them before meeting our volunteers at the hatched nest. Volunteers will inventory the nest, counting/recording all of its contents including hatched/unhatched eggs and any hatchlings that did not emerge with the others.

🌞🍔 Finally visited Wind Rose Bar and Grill on a scorching June day! This 21+ spot is one of the few on Tybee Island that allows indoor smoking—normally not my thing, but I had an incredible patty melt! 🧀🍔 The daily specials draw in locals for lunch, so be sure to check their page for the latest updates. 🌴🥗

Finally took a trip over to Huckapoos with my daughter this week, and I have to say, the teens and young adults really know what’s up! 🍕✨ My slice of pizza was phenomenal - I don’t even know what was on it, but the addition of ranch took it to another level. The atmosphere is super friendly, and we had a blast sitting at the bar and meeting some great locals. Highly recommend checking out the vibe at Huckapoos! 🌟

This is the only opening we have for June and July. 🏖️ Yes it looks a little pricey, but we do have three bedrooms so that you can split the cost with some friends and be sitting on the beach and not battling the traffic during the firework show. 💥 🐢

Tybee Turtle Time Condo is thrilled about turtle nesting season this year! 🐢🌴 So far, we've had two turtles make their journey in the middle of the night to lay their nests. If you're out walking on the beach early in the morning and spot a nest, please report it so the dedicated volunteers can ensure the safety of the babies. Let's work together to protect these incredible creatures! 🌊💚

Remember, turn off all porch lights and don’t use white flashlights on the beach at night.

🏖️ Memorial Weekend Safety Reminder 🏖️

With Memorial Weekend upon us, it’s crucial to talk to all kids (including teens!) about escaping rip currents. 🌊 Even strong swimmers can get into trouble, so reminders are very important.

How to Escape a Rip Current:

1. Stay Calm – Panic will only make it harder to escape.
2. Swim Parallel to the Shore – Don’t try to swim directly back to the shore against the current. Swim parallel until you’re out of the rip, then head back to the beach.
3. Conserve Energy – If you’re struggling, float or tread water until you’re out of the current.

📢 Practice Makes Perfect: Consider doing a “mock run” in the water to help everyone understand the steps. This can be a lifesaver! 🛟

Remember, even experienced swimmers can be overwhelmed. Last year, an 18-year-old boy saved several people from a rip current but tragically died from exhaustion afterward. Let’s honor his bravery by staying informed and safe.

🌞🌊 Finally getting to relax and enjoy some quality time at our Tybee Turtle Time condo! After a hectic week of graduation activities for my youngest daughter, it’s great to unwind with my older daughter. Enjoy these photos from our sunny day! ☀️

🚶‍♀️☕️ Started our day with a beautiful morning walk to North Beach, coffee in hand. Then, we kicked back with bloody Marys by the pool—perfect way to enjoy the sunshine! The restaurant here is our go-to spot for delicious meals and easy vibes. 🌴🏖️

Chill Vibes and Yummy Eats at Mi Vida, Tybee Island!

So, let me tell you about my awesome time at Mi Vida on Tybee Island! This place is the definition of chill vibes and tasty treats.

I went for the Blue Spirulina Smoothie Bowl, and let me just say, it was like eating a work of art! Fresh fruits, that cool blue spirulina - it was a total feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

And don’t even get me started on the Hot Mama Cold Pressed Juice! It’s like a burst of refreshment with every sip. Perfect for cooling down on a hot island day.

Seriously, I’m already planning my next visit. Whether it’s breakfast or lunch, Mi Vida is where it’s at for good eats and good times. Can’t wait to go back for more! 🐢
