Thomas C. West - SEIA

West is a Senior Partner in the investment management and financial planning firm of Signature Estate & Investment Advisors (SEIA). Tom leads a team of financial professionals who help clients secure wealth when facing uncertainty due to disability, illness, or death. Tom also has a robust financial planning and investment management practice that emphasizes cash flows in all stages of retirement.

Tom has significant experience in issues related to suitable and ethical financial strategies pertaining to incapacitated seniors, and is regularly interviewed for his perspective by periodicals such as The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and the New York Times where his practice was profiled in 2013. He has also consulted in multiple court proceedings where conflicts regarding the financing of long-term care have sometimes put families and/or professionals at odds. Tom regularly educates financial professionals, attorneys, tax professionals, and aging lifecare managers on the most appropriate financial planning techniques for families facing long-term care. Tom’s community service in the aging and disability area has earned him recognition from a variety of non-profits and local government groups. He was appointed to the Long Term Care Coordinating Council by both the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors (2008) and the City of Falls Church (2010). He previously served in leadership positions on the boards of Insight Memory Care Center and the National Capital Alzheimer’s Association. Tom currently serves on the board of the Jewish Council for the Aging and is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Goodwin House Inc.
