🍷 The 45th Annual Mendocino County Fair Wine Competition was so much fun!

Thank you Mendocino Winegrowers Inc () for organizing an awesome afternoon at the Brutaco Schoolhouse Plaza. This year we were the judges for this blind tasting. The notepads proved useful as everyone compared thoughts and shared a laugh or two. We’re looking forward to see all the winners, but truly everyone in attendance was the real winner. Cheers! 🍇

1. A midday visit to Schat’s for lunch always hits the spot especially when ordering their classic signature BLT. Pair it with a cup of the soup of the day! ()
2. Ellie’s knows plenty about awesome combos and the Brunch Burger is a perfect example with an egg, bacon and cheese. It’s a burger that’s good any time of day. ()
3. For all our gluten free vegan friends, this is one you don’t want to miss! If you see Mendocino Baking Company at the Farmer’s Market, find out if they’re serving this awesome tempeh burger courtesy of Syd’s Tempeh with a gluten free bun! ( )
4. If comfort food is what you crave, then head to Patrona for the Crispy Chicken Hind Quarter. It’s just like grandma’s — but better thanks to whipped Yukon gold potatoes, bacon, green beans and touch of dijon. ()

2. This month started a new theme for Patrona’s Daily $8 Happy Hour and these Thai chicken wings look like a hit. A little sweet, a little spicy and all for just $8. Don’t forget to try the Happy Hour cocktails too! ()
3. If you’re looking for a vegetarian friendly appetizer or lunch, then head to Star*s for the avocado egg rolls. There’s plenty of avocado plus sun dried tomatoes, spices, cream cheese and more. You’ve gotta try these! ()

Alex Thomas Plaza served as a hub for diversity and inclusion today from 10-2 for Ukiah Pride and it was a magical event. Food trucks, friends and families filled the plaza earlier to show support for the LGBTQ+ community. It all started with the Pride Walk from Black Oak Coffee at 10am as the participants descended upon the spot with rainbow flags, signs and more. Thank you to all the speakers, participants and people who helped make it another successful event reminding us that love is love 🌈

We had so much fun at Alex Thomas Plaza tonight for the kickoff party! All of the music from The Backporch Trio and DJ Sesh Wan brought the plaza to life, the food vendors kept us fed in style and the vendors brought out some awesome items. 1. Who’s up for a little surf & turf — in taco form? The Taco Chinaloa is exactly that. Three tacos with grilled carne asada and shrimp in a double tortilla with mozzarella toppings and salsa. It’s the best of both worlds ()
2. For Father’s Day, Left Coast is celebrating all weekend long with a special prix fixe menu featuring prime rib, Maine lobster and so much more ()

1. We’ve said it before but it bears repeating: the Cuban sandwich at The Golden Pig might just be the best Cuban sandwich in all of California. That’s not hyperbole. Go try one for yourself ASAP ()
2. Summertime is the perfect season to enjoy some food, brews and music at the Hopland Tap beer garden, and might we recommend the bacon blue cheese burger. It’s one you’ll never forget ()
3. If you’re in the mood for the classics, spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread from Marino’s is the ticket. It’s comfort food for you soul AND it’s always on special! Bring it home for the family and become the hero of the day! ()
4. Here’s a sandwich we highly recommend from Be-Bop’s. The Crispy Chicken Ranch Club is perfection inside of two toasted pieces of bread. The ranch brings all the flavor together. ()

1. We kick things off this week with a classic that just hits different on a sunny day, it’s the fish & chips from Ukiah Brewing Co. The fish is fresh from Fort Bragg and golden fried to perfection. It never gets old ()
2. The prosciutto and burrata board at Cultivo is officially our favorite appetizer of the spring. It’s a light starter that leaves you room to enjoy dinner, but watch out because the apricot compote is addictive in all the right ways! ()
3. Hopland Tap put its spin on the classic Philly cheesesteak and it’s beautiful. It features ribeye and bbq plus the grilled veggies and cheese that make the sandwich one of a kind. Try it this weekend if you’re going to the Tap for PRIDE! ()
