# deep freeze in Boston and frozen lavatories on planes!

These last 12 months I can definitely say has been the worse for flight delays, cancellations and constant schedule changes with all airlines. But today I think this is the first I’ve heard of this after booking a non stop flight out of Boston to Punta Cana for a client. The lavatories are frozen on the plane and they had to schedule a stop in Miami to defrost them.

In 25 yrs in this business I have never experienced what we are going through right now. Airline cancelations and delays are becoming the daily norm. So just a few FAQ’s if your flying in the near future.

Make use of any and all App’s available to you. Definitely the airline App and make sure your trip is showing up in My Trips and Notifications ON. The first thing I do is go to My Trips and add my clients email and phone number so we both are aware of any changes. Day of travel if flight is delayed or cancelled and your not going to make it, go immediately to the App and see what options are available and switch then if possible. Don’t wait! That’s the same way I have to do it if you call me and it could be too late. Somebody else might of grabbed those last couple seats on the next flight!

Also know that if you receive a schedule change that is totally unreasonable and there are other options you can call the airline to request the change.

Just like the Boy Scouts motto, Be Prepared!

Hopefully after the Senate hearing on Tuesday maybe this will hopefully change Soon! We are the last major country still requiring inbound testing. The UK, Canada, Italy, Australia and all the Caribbean islands do not require it if fully vaccinated. Most of the islands even if your not vaccinated. This is still the number one reason holding back the travel industry.

I know so many of us are wanting to get back to traveling again and hoping for some good deals. Well, unfortunately for us in Ohio, Dayton airfares have increased 42%, the highest of any city. And Cincinnati and Akron are also in the top 10. So planning ahead is very important now and consider driving to Indy or Columbus. If your thinking of Mexico or the Caribbean we do have some good deals on the non stop charters out of Cincinnati. Jamaica, Cancun, Cabo and Punta Cana!

Here’s some updates on covid 19 entry requirements if your planning on traveling this summer. Most countries do not require you to be vaccinated, but if not require a covid test before travel. On your return to the US a covid test is still required 1 day prior, unless you have had covid in the past 90 days or less with a letter of proof from your doctor.

Princess cruise lines just announced that their 2022 Alaska itinerary on the Ruby Princess will be stopping in Prince Rupert. Originally scheduled for Vancouver. A port that was mainly for the small ships like Oceania or Seabourn.

I priced this out last August and even with rising costs this year the price is the same! Great property all inclusive with non stop flight, hotel and transfers and all meals, drinks. $2952. May 29 and June 12. Sandos Finisterra pictures below. Other dates slightly higher.

The Riu Sante Fe same week superior room is only $1852 for two.

As we know, the CDC has been tougher on the cruise line industry than any other private sector. This hopefully is a step in the right direction to make cruising feel more like it use to be. Now only if the airlines could follow suit!!
