Due to inclement weather, the AC-130 Ghostrider unit canceled the live-fire training event that was to take place today over the skies of Camp Atterbury and southern Indiana.

Camp Atterbury remains closed to the public today.

Camp Atterbury will be hosting an AC-130J Ghostrider for aerial gunnery TRAINING! The TRAINING will take place between 1200-1800 on 28DEC2023. I repeat, this is strictly TRAINING and will focus on the 105mm howitzer and the 30mm minigun. If you see this beast making 45° banks around Camp Atterbury on 28DEC2023 and unleashing controlled fury, do not be alarmed as it is YOUR service members honing their skills to protect our freedoms.

My memories from 39 years ago..

Sura Gail Tala shares a few stories from her many years on the lake...

I'm celebrating completing my 40th year at the lake, living across from the Port Hole, and owning 2 houses on the water. I was born the same year as this lake! My favorite memory is the first full winter I was here, a teenage eagle had caught a fish and was standing on the ice. A mature eagle had arrived and grabbed the tail of the large fish and a tug of war began. Eventually the fish ripped in half and each bird flew off with a large hunk of fish! I also raised llamas for 21 years and one day having returned from shopping, my 6 female llamas were standing against the Port Hole looking like they wanted to enter!
