Octopus are occasionally caught and on deck of the F/V Enough Said!! They are a dining delicacy of halibut- and some of us!!We frequently find their tentacles in the stomaches of fish 🐙♥️😋

Please, none of these yellow things on the boat. No exceptions ever and Captain will insist that you dump them in the water if one manages to sneak onboard. They are considered bad luck by most all fisherman!! No joke… 🤪

When Capt. fishes for black rockfish, sometimes these gorgeous yellow eye get hooked. Because they have what’s called a swim bladder, they float when brought to the surface. They survive up to about 20 minutes above water and are released with special gear at the bottom of the ocean where they live out the rest of their days. One of their biggest predators is ling cod, an ambush predator. We do catch those! In accordance to Alaska fishing regs, anglers are allowed to retain just 1 yellow eye a day, but seriously, we rarely retain yellow eye for ecological reasons. It’s usually catch and release. Love this picture of Captain Sheridan on FV Enough Said!! Gorgeous fish!! 😍

When the big fish aren’t biting we catch smaller ones. That didn’t seem to matter to these guests!! 3 different groups on the boat that were like family by the end of the day. What a super great day with these folks on F/V Enough Said!!
