Remember the good ol’ days of checking in your deer at the store? They're bringing back some of that tradition at Mary Helen's Harpeth Valley Store! This season, they're dusting off the old Polaroid camera. Bring your deer to the store, get your picture taken for “the board,” and enter your name into a drawing for a special prize!

They will draw the winner the first Saturday after the season ends, so make sure to stop by and be part of this throwback experience. Stay tuned for prize details! 📸

The date for our annual KS Parks fundraising event Dinner on Main has been set and tickets will go on sale this Tuesday, July 30th at 7:00pm. The Event date is Sunday, September 22, 2024. Start time is 5:00pm. Tickets are $150 each and there will be a limit of 4 tickets per sale. Dinner on Main looks to be another fantastic event and will take place in the same spot as last year in the lot where we hold the Farmers and Artisans Market and Food Truck events. Same great chefs, same delicious food, same beautiful atmosphere, same farm to table community celebration.

As we did last year, ticket sales will be electronic – tickets will not be sold at our Farmers Market. Ticket sales will go live on Tuesday, July 30th at 7:00pm on the KS Parks & Recreation website (different ticket site than last year and site links included below). If you’re interested in purchasing tickets, it is recommended you use the instructions below to create an account now so you will be ready when ticket sales go live. As usual, these tickets will go fast so you will need to be ready to purchase when they become available. You might want to be on the site and ready to go prior to the 7:00pm launch. And please remember, each sale is limited to 4 tickets.

The Pack Site mound complex, featured in the documentary "The First Tennesseans," is an intriguing archaeological site situated between the Harpeth River and Highway 70 in Shacklett, Tennessee. The documentary, produced and directed by Jack Cook in 1985 while he was working at The Tennessee State Museum, provides a rare glimpse into this historical area. Cook obtained special permission from Mr. Osborn to visit the site, which offers valuable insights into the early inhabitants of Tennessee. The mounds are part of a larger complex that reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region's indigenous peoples.

These cabinets, made by my grandaddy, are a lasting testament to his skill as a carpenter. He transformed this home from a two-room schoolhouse into a family haven. The first photo captured our kitchen years ago, while the second shows how these cabinets still stand strong today. Din Din's craftsmanship lives on in every detail of this home. ❤️

A huge shout out to our friends at Marmie & Moonie Farm!

Willa had an amazing time at their farm camp, diving into hands-on farm skills and chores. They learned how to gather eggs, plant in the garden, and pick veggies and fruit. Willa also enjoyed fun activities like playing in the creek, doing crafts, and exploring the woods with tree and plant identification. These experiences will definitely be cherished for years to come!
