We are headed home from the most magical place on earth! What a great week we had! This post may become long, but wanted to share our experience this week as the parks were at 100% capacity again!
This a very busy time of year, but it’s extra magical with all the Christmas extras!
Saturday 12/11: left our home at 9am CST and arrived at our resort, Art of Animation, around 7:30pm EST. We ordered dinner from the hotel food court and it was delicious!
Sunday 12/12: MK day! I woke up at 7 to secure a Genie+ reservation for Big Thunder Mountain! We arrived in the park around 9 (an hour after opening) walked onto Pirates of the Caribbean. We headed over to BTM for our reservation, but the ride was down so we walked over to Its a Small World and the Carousel for Milla! BTM was back up at that point so we walked over and rode then hopped in line for Splash Mountain. We had a lunch reservation at The Plaza so it was time for that and we really enjoyed the Monte Cristo! After lunch we waited maybe 20 minutes for Space Mountain and took Milla to Under The Sea. We went back to Pirates one more time and then waited 63 minutes to ride 7 dwarfs mine train, it was worth it! We headed out just as the fireworks were starting. I got Genie+ for a few rides this day.
Monday 12/13: HS day! I woke up at 7 to secure Genie+ for Slinky Dog! We got to the park around 10 (an hour after opening) it was crowded. We went straight to Rock N’ Rollercoaster and waited about 10 minutes. I took Milla to see Fancy Nancy and Vampirina before the Disney Jr. Dance party and Kelly, Hunter, and AG went to Star Tours. We went straight to the Frozen Sing-Along before seeing Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy at Hollywood and Vine for lunch! I went ahead and scheduled Genie+ for Rock N’ Rollercoaster again. We rode Slinky Dog with our lightning lane reservation and then went to Minnie and Mickey’s runaway railway. We waited in line here around 45 minutes. We then went and waited in line to ride slinky dog again and it was right at 60 minutes. By this time it was almost 8pm. We walked to Rise of the Resisitance. Posted wait time was 145 minutes, we waited and rode the ride within an hour! We had a successful day and headed back to the resort!
Tuesday 12/14: Rest day! We had a dining reservation at Chef Mickey’s for 11:35 then headed back to the resort for a nap and rest. At 6:30 Kelly, Milla, me, and his parents headed to Magic Kingdom for the After Hours Christmas Party. 5 hours of 30% capacity with hardly any wait at the rides. We walked onto Peter Pan’s flight then rode Big Mountain Thunder 3 times and Pirates of the Carribean then we headed to the castle for a Christmas Show and the parade. After this Milla was asleep and kelly and his parents rode splash mountain, kelly and I rode Space Mountain then got in line for 7 dwarfs mine train with his dad right before 11:15 when the fireworks were starting. We ordered food from Casey’s corner, watched the second parade and got our food. We ate outside and headed out to the bus right around 12:30. It was well worth the extra money!
Wednesday 12/15: Epcot day! I woke up at 7 to get in the virtual que for Remy and a Genie+ reservation for Test Track. We arrived at the park around 12 and headed straight to Remy. I then stacked Frozen and Soarin’ all back to back. We rode Nemo after Soarin’. We ate American, Chinese, and German with a few snacks in between. We headed out around 8pm.
Thursday 12/16: Last day at Animal Kingdom then hopped to Magic Kingdom. I woke up at 7 to get a Genie+ reservation for the Safari. We got into the park around 9:30 and went straight to the Safari. We then went and rode Kali River Rapids twice, and Everest twice. We got dole whips and then headed back to the resort for a nap. We got to Magic Kingdom around 6. The boys went to ride some of the bigger stuff while Tracie and I took Milla to Under The Sea, the carousel, and shopping. While in line at Under The Sea I snagged a last minute reservation for Be Our Guest for 7:45 (really hard to get). We enjoyed the food so much, best steak I’ve ever had! The experience was wonderful!
