Fear is such a fickle thing. As humans, we feel all the time, but it's ever-changing, so we don't always have the tools to navigate it well. It's really hard to be in our fear response and let our bodies work through it. When we're in our fear, we immediately want to move to the next thing (of course because fear is UNCOMFORTABLE! We totally get it!).

What if we could create a safe controlled space to work through fear? To learn to check in with our bodies when we feel fear and tell them it's okay and that you've got you.

At Project Wild we do just that. We keep you safe, you push yourself.

Fear is scary but let us show you it can also be fun! Books are open for this summer, let's do some hard stuff together!

Let’s talk safety!

Safety is top priority at Project Wild. Since climbing outside can be a risky sport we take every precaution possible to ensure the safest experience.

Below is a list of items we require on every trip to ensure everyone stays safe!

- Helmets
- Close toed shoes
- Ropes (no free soloing around these parts!)
- GriGri’s (if you don’t know what that is we’ll show you!)
- A med kit
- Snacks and extra hydration
- A sat phone (we’ll have service the entire time but we have one just in case!)
- A nationally certified EMT
- A certified climbing guide

We want you to feel like your safety isn’t something you have to worry about so you can focus on challenging yourself and enjoying the landscape.

Driven by the idea that your mountains were meant to be climbed, not carried.

This idea shows up for people in so many different ways, in personal and professional life. At Project Wild, we like to use climbing as a way to practice physically moving through tough emotions in a safe controlled environment so that maybe next time the mountains appear in your path you know how to climb them.

What mountains are you tackling this week?

I wanted to touch on a topic I’ve gotten a few questions about recently:

Do I have to bring my own gear?!

The answer is NO WAY! Project Wild has the gear covered and will fit you the morning of your trip. Harnesses, helmets, and shoes have all been selected in partnership with Black Diamond and Mammut for the ropes!

Our hope is to make climbing feel as approachable as possible for those looking to try something new. If you have gear you like to use, certainly feel free to bring it but it is not necessary.

I came across this article and it got me thinking and inspired me to share a little about why. Why Project Wild? Why climbing?

For me (and at Project Wild) climbing isn't about climbing the hardest routes, and it's not about comparison, it's not about how you look.

Climbing to me is about a lot of things but most of all it's about connection.

At Project Wild, I create a space for people to show up and connect to themselves, as they are that day. It's an opportunity to physically connect to the landscape through movement, breath, and touch.

Before we head up to climb I check in with each participant to see where you're at that day and what your goals are in an effort to make sure each person is heard and that we reach or exceed those goals so you can leave feeling accomplished.

So, if you haven't heard it yet today, YOU BELONG. You are worthy today and you belong here. Let me help show you that climbing can be a safe space for anyone on any day.

Books are now open! Follow the link in my bio to get an incredible opportunity to connect and feel a sense of belonging.

You don't suck if you can't climb hard. Take the pressure off, dial back your goals. If your partners don't support you, find new partners.
