One of my favorite parts of Athens is the slick smoothness of the stones under foot. Sometimes you will be at a crosswalk and literally slide down the little grade to the street because it has been smoothed over so much. Old good things.

If you have hiked with me you have probably heard it. To keep moving at a pace, I do this chanty thing, move to the beat, swing my arm, snap along, GOTTA KEEP MY PACE UP, GOTTA KEEP MY PACE UP. It’s pretty catchy, others get into it too. It really does help keep your pace up. We were racing sunset here in Big Sur, coming down from the most magical spot.

Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe yet worlds away. @tenthousandwavesjapaneseresort may be the most epic, yet low key, spa in the west. In the style of Japanese mountain hot springs, you can reserve a private hot tub suite - ours was Kojiro and had a hot tub (with jets), cold plunge, sauna, shower and sun lounge deck - some suites are more simple ofuro style, they are all gorgeous and each one is unique. The grounds and Japanese-style architecture are breathtaking. The spa, restaurant (Izanami) and hotel (yes, you can stay there) are all perfectly tucked into a piñon forest and have been a dreamy must see and do for 40 years. Even the koi in the pond have been around since day one living the good life.
