Aside from the open road, this is most definitely my favorite place to be. In this little jewel box of my most favorite thing from my most favorite places, on this sheepskin covered loveseat, wearing the softest, kindest wool in the world, visited by the best people around.

Second to last weekend that this here instagram account is heavy on the shop and light on the travel. Can you even imagine anything more fun than traveling all year collecting from the best places, from the coolest designers and shops around the world, all to come together for a three weekend rodeo? Thanks for showing up!! See you again this weekend!! Can’t wait to be back in the coziest shop out there. I stopped in yesterday to pick stuff up and it just smelled so good, felt so good, looked so good (if I do say so myself). Saturday and Sunday 10-4, see you. Also for locals if you want to shop online and do local pickup, go through dipatoe.com and not through Instagram shop, local pickup is only through the .com. Always a whole thing finding the perfect hotel for the annual Fall trip with the parents. If we can find a single room that suits, in a hotel that we all like, at an ok cost, then that’s a needle in a haystack. really was that. Such a gorgeous old building with so much history. Loved the location, staff was top notch, good breakfast, room was out of this world. The design details from floor to ceiling were a wow. This was their large suite with spa. Two bedrooms divided by a bathroom that had a steam bath, which was the best after 15,000 steps every day. These people are now our Rome fam and after a week, WE LIVE HERE !!

Seriously fun to be a tourist in Rome. My first time here! Have learned so much…
Even the most powerful empires can fall to shreds if not careful.
Give a power-hungry, egomaniac the keys to the castle and so many people will suffer deeply, while democracy turns to fascism.
Good materials last forever and ever.
Marble. Just marble.
Frescos. More frescos please.
Turns out all three of us CAN endure a three hour tour.
Our ceilings need more of our attention.
It’s not the pasta that’s making us fat in the US, it’s American ingredients and our portion size (but we knew that).
Mostly remember the first two though, at least next Tuesday.

Holiday Shop UPDATE: this year’s location will be same block as always but now at the lovely spot at 7105 Reynolds - between and the Breezeway. Three years running in the same block, can’t wait!! My nose and toes will be warmer this year, for sure. I’ll remind ya again of course, as we get closer 🙃 see you!!
