For fans of abandoned places, Alaska’s Igloo City is just the ticket. Construction began on the 4-story igloo hotel in 1970 but was never completed because it could not meet building codes at the time. It has sat empty and unfinished for 50 years.

For fans of abandoned places, Windber, PA is a rare treat. This tiny town is home to a streetcar graveyard. Dozens of PCC streetcars sit neglected either in an old warehouse or outside in the woods.

Here is a place that you must see to believe. A 100 year-old abandoned city remains buried underground beneath downtown Havre, Montana. Ever wonder what happens to all the unclaimed baggage left at airports or on airplanes? Airlines are pretty good at finding lost baggage and reuniting it with its owner. Only about 0.03% of baggage is never claimed. That 0.03% is then sold to the aptly named Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro, Alabama who has been reselling, donating, and recycling the unclaimed goods from all the airlines in the United States since 1970. You can visit their store in person, or shop online.

The Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas is the most haunted hotel in the United States. Built in 1886 as a wellness resort where guests could indulge in the healing waters of the local springs, the hotel has welcomed the infirmed for over 130 years which has led to its reputation as a residence for numerous ghosts. I've visited a couple of times and never seen or sensed a specter, but who knows. You may have more luck than me.

You can still stay in one of the beautifully updated rooms and even host a wedding at this idyllic location.
