I had a wonderful morning on Joe Pool Lake with Stacie and Gregory today. The weather was incredible and the morning bite was good. The wind picked up a bit mid morning and moved us across the lake but we caught enough to keep us focused. Stacie caught a couple of nice chunkers around 4 pounds and Gregory landed a 7.15 pounder! They both finished hard all morning and were a joy to be around. I am truly blessed to be ablle to do what I love and I am grateful to have spent this time with such a nice couple. It was our first outing together, but I hope that it won’t be our last. Thanks again!😊

I got out for a morning on Joe Pool with my buddy Dan and his friend Ken. We had great weather and were able to get around the lake (without the crazy wind we’ve been experiencing) and caught a few pretty much everywhere we stopped. The better fish came later in the day and Ken snagged a beautiful 9 pounder near the ramp at the end of our trip.
The day ended on a high note, but I truly enjoyed the entire trip fishing with Dan and Ken.
Both guys are super cool and very friendly.
It was a bittersweet celebration for Ken because Dan has been in my boat more than any other “customer” and has yet to land a 9 or better. We both know that his time is coming soon.

David and his son Alex were in town from Tennessee to experience the Bassmaster Classic on Lake Ray Roberts. Both are experienced anglers and Alex is on his high school’s fishing team. Pretty much… they know how to catch ‘em.
It was a beautiful day on Joe Pool and the light breeze allowed us to move around and fish. We caught fish at almost every stop and ended up with a dozen or so fish. We just couldn’t seal the deal on a big girl.
The guys fished hard and stayed positive the entire morning. I truly enjoyed fishing with them. I hope that they give me a call the next time they’re in town.

I got out on Joe Pool Lake with Mr. Austin yesterday morning. This was our third time fishing together. The weather was perfect when we headed out and the bite was great. We caught over a dozen fish before a cold front came in with a strong north wind. The temperature dropped and the fishing got tough. We opted to leave em for another day. Even though our time on the lake was short, we had a great time. I look forward to our next time together. Thank you sir!😊

I had the pleasure of guiding Tatsuya and Takumi on Grapevine Lake. They were in town from Japan on a business trip. They are both electrical engineers and both avid bass anglers.
I had spent hours preparing and rigging up for any possible fishing technique that we might want to use.
I don’t know much about the bass fishing culture in Japan, but I do know that a lot of the new lure presentations and the high-end lures and equipment come from Japan.
We fished for a couple of hours before landing our first fish and spent a lot of time moving around the lake. The morning clouds and breeze left us and tough fishing got harder. Tatsuya tried several different techniques while Takumi and I spent the day dragging soft plastics for the most part.
We had boated several fish before the heat and lack of wind ended our day. No big fish were caught but every bite was appreciated. These guys were super fun to fish with and they never slowed down. I hope they enjoyed our time together as much as I did! I look forward to getting together again the next time they’re in town.😊

I snuck out to Eagle Mountain at around 2:30 this afternoon. It was 96 with little wind and clouds so I didn’t expect much. I just wanted one good fish before we head out to California for a week.
Well I did it! One good fish in 94 degree water. I’ll take it 😊

I got out on Eagle Mountain Lake with Kenny and his son Nick. Kenny recently purchased a boat and wanted some pointers on bass fishing in the summer. He picked a good day to experience summer fishing (on a weekend). We started out pretty good with a few fish. As the day progressed, boat traffic made it hard to fish the main lake, but we rode the waves and ground out a decent haul (for the conditions).
The big bite eluded us and the fishing got harder later in the day.
We fished hard for 10 hours and covered some water before the trip ended. Nick landed one last bass after a long dry spell and we ended our day with a fish.
I hope to run into them on the lake in the near future. They are both hardcore fishermen and I truly appreciated and enjoyed our time together 😊
