After an incredible 10 day vacation in Michigan, with majority of that time spent in northern Michigan, with some spotty cell service/wifi, as some of you know (🫣). 🎃 Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween party returns in August 9th with 5 new scary surprises!
This is mine and my family’s favorite Walt Disney World party and it’s something that you don’t want to miss! Do you love to draw? Appreciate the art of Disney animation? Like air conditioning? Want a free souvenir? Or just want a place to sit down for 25 minutes during a sometimes hectic Disney day?
This hidden gem is the place to go!
This is the Animation Experience at Walt Disney Worlds Animal Kingdom Park Conservation Station. ✍️
🚂Climb on board the Wildlife Express Train (near the back of the park by the Safari Exit) to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and explore the conservation station 🛤️ Here you can see many different amphibian, reptile and invertebrate animals, you can learn all about conservation and different animals on Animal Kingdoms Property. There is also an exam observation window that you can observe different procedures taking place on Animal Kingdoms very own animals. My last trip we got to see how a frog gets X-rays taken 🩻(side note: I’m an X-ray tech at my other job, so this was very cool for me).
The 25 minute animation classes run daily, usually about once per hour, but check daily times on your My Disney Experience App for the most up to date information. Arrive early as classes fill up, and reserved seating is not available.
The character changes each class, and we had the opportunity to draw Kaa from the Jungle Book. Paper and pencil are provided, along with a drawing board. So nothing to bring but YOURSELF! All ages are welcome, my 5 year old loved it! But if they get frustrated, bored or no longer want to draw, they have coloring pages and crayons available so they can still be a part of the experience 🤗
This is a great way to test out your drawing skills, learn about animation at Disney, and surprisingly, this was SOO RELAXING! I do not have an artistic bone in my body, and I thoroughly enjoyed this. My 9 year old has an incredible talent to draw, so this was right up her alley! Hers looked exactly like the animators!
☀️ Also, if you plan on visiting this summer, Animal Kingdom will be celebrating “The Lion King” films 30th Anniversary, and you can catch Rafiki and Timon in this area! Check your My Disney Experience App for the most up to date Character times to meet these guys!

🌸 🕯️ An Encanto stage show is coming to Epcot where you can sing along to your favorite Encanto songs from June 10- September 6, 2024.

Royal Caribbean has just announced the expansion of their new Royal Beach Club collection into Cozumel, Mexico! We don’t have an official opening date yet, but this is going to be an incredible spot for families sailing on Royal Caribbean ships to visit during their vacation here!

Disney Cruise Line’s next ship, Disney Destiny has been announced and will set sail in 2025! This ship is going to be the third in the class that includes Disney Wish and the Disney Treasure, and will feature a Heroes and Villains theme!
We don’t have the rates or sail dates available yet for Disney Destiny, but we do have Summer 2025 Disney Cruise Line itineraries going on sale for general booking this Friday!

5 minute walk from Epcot Gates/skyliner to Disney’s Beach Club Resort
We stayed in a Resort View room at The Beach Club Resort. It was the perfect size for our party of 4. A spacious bathroom, 2 Queen beds, mini fridge, coffee machine, large closet, desk area, and quaint balcony to overlook the gorgeous resort.
The Beach Club and Yacht Club share many ammenities, and have a lot of options when it comes to dining, and food options. We utilized the marketplace a lot for quick service food. There was great warm food options, as well as quick grab and go style food too. Mobile ordering here was very convenient and a great way to skip the lines during busy times of day.
The Beach Club also has Cape May Cafe. This is one of our favorite character dining experiences. We tend to go here for breakfast for Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast Buffet almost every trip. Minnie, along with her friends Goofy, Daisy and Donald will visit you during your meal. There is also a New England Style dinner buffet available, but be aware there are no characters at that meal.
One of the great perks of staying at the Beach Club is the proximity to Epcot. Epcot is a quick 5 minute (I timed it 🤗) walk from the entrance gate to the main building of the hotel. I filmed this walk for you in the video that I’ll post next. It’s a gorgeous walk along the beach 🏖️. Another great perk is you have skyliner access(same walk/distance as in the video) here that will get you to Hollywood studios, or if heights aren’t your thing, you can take a boat. Another option is as bit longer of a walk over to Hollywood Studios if it’s a nice day, some people choose that. For access to all other parks you will you Disney busses.
A fun thing we got to experience is surprise character visits at our hotel. These are unplanned appearances by some of your favorite Disney pals. And sometimes they are rare characters you don’t often see around Walt Disney World! We got to experience some magical moments with Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. My kids love autograph books, and Donald even wrote a special message to my daughter in her book during his visit. I always encourage guests to keep an eye out anywhere in Disney, you never know who you’ll run into. 👀

Overview of Stormalong Bay 🌊
Today I am going to be highlighting one of my favorite resorts to stay at while at Walt Disney World.
The Beach Club resort! 🏖️ this hotel has incredible amenities, and arguably, the best pool on Walt Disney World Property! Stormalong Bay is the pool area offered for guests at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. This pool seems never ending in the 3 acres of water park fun. There are 3 jacuzzis, a shallow, zero entry, sand bottom kids pool, lazy river, one of the largest water slides on property, smaller kiddie slide in the Shipwreck Pool, and so much more! The main pool seems never ending as it winds around Stormalong Bay. My kids absolutely love the kids pool because it has a large sand pile they can play in while in the water. If you would like a quieter option, there are also 3 leisure pools available shared between the Yacht and Beach club Resorts.
Just steps from Stormalong Bay is Beaches and Cream Soda shop! This restaurant is famous for its desserts! Delicious ice cream, milkshakes, and the ever popular KITCHEN SINK dessert. There is also a to-go window right outside that you can order a select menu if you’d like to get a taste of Beaches and Cream and enjoy pool views🍦
And after you indulge in those desserts, feel free to stop by Ship Shape Health Club the fitness center located conveniently close to Beaches and Cream. 🤗 there are many options for equipment to use, including treadmills, spin bikes, weights, and more! Also next to the fitness center is the arcade, a great place to hang out day or night and get into your competitive side!
What would The Beach Club Resort be without a BEACH? Right outside the pool is a gorgeous beach front to Crescent Lake. Across the lake is Disney’s Boardwalk which hosts restaurants, Atlantic City dance hall, Jelly Rolls piano bar and more for some non park entertainment. This is walkable, or a short boat ride from the resort. There are also boat and bike rentals available.
This past weekend I was in Walt Disney World for the Princess Half Marathon weekend! 🏃🏼♀️ this was an extra special weekend for me because I completed my first ever running events last year during Princess Weekend, and this year, I got to do the 5k with my daughter, and help her complete her first event!
Run Disney truly is like no other. The sense of community you feel during these events makes you warm and fuzzy inside, even on those cold mornings in the corral! (And man was it chilly this past weekend at 4am)
My daughter was in the ER just 24 hours prior to this event for an incredibly painful double ear infection and ruptured ear drum, but still wanted to do this. She was determined to get her medal. By the photos, you would never know how challenging this was for her dealing with the pain in her ears. But every time she saw that photopass tent she lit up! (See photos🥰) At the end of the race, she told me she wanted to do it again next year. I knew she was hooked, just like I am now. 🏅
Another special thing I got to experience was being a spectator during the half marathon event. Last year I ran it, and I regret not doing it this year. But the next best thing is rooting for my best friend, who never says no to RunDisney. We got to watch her run down the best part of the half marathon, Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom! And my new running buddy woke up extra early to go cheer with me before our park day!
Seeing all the runners, and being a part of the RunDisney community is a great way to experience Disney in another way. The inspiration on the course, encouraging words from strangers, and entire staff that put on these events are remarkable.
The expo before the races always has everything you can IMAGINE that you might need for the races. Something I didn’t know I needed, was running into a fellow travel agent from Sarah! So great to see you🫶

One of the beautiful things about the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is the fact that it sits on the Seven Seas Lagoon of Walt Disney World, right across from the Magic Kingdom. The ambiance of the water truly makes you feel like you’re on vacation here. 🌊Walking around the resorts shoreline you’ll find a marina with boat rentals, a beach, and 2 pools on property. The Beach pool located near the lagoon and beach, and Courtyard pool located centrally in the resort. Both of these pools have zero entry, pool bars, complimentary towels, life jackets, cabanas/reserved patio seating available for rent, and are great to spend time at. 🏊 The Courtyard Pool has a more serene atmosphere and offers pod loungers, a whirlpool and reserved patio areas. 🏖️ The Beach Pool is more family friendly with a 181-foot long water slide, waterfalls, cabana rentals and an Alice in Wonderland splash pad area nearby. You can also find daily fun with poolside activities, trivia, and more at this pool! This weekend I am going to highlight: ✨Walt Disney Worlds Grand Floridian Resort ✨ Walt Disney Worlds Grand Floridian Resort is a Deluxe Resort and its beauty definitely makes it GRAND. I recently stayed in a resort view room in the Sago Cay Building, and it was GORGEOUS. This building recently completed renovation in 2023 and has a Mary Poppins theme. I was absolutely in awe when walking into this room. The amount of times I said the word “gorgeous” when looking around was unreal. The way the theme is carried throughout the room are Disney’s specialty, and I always love looking for those special details. This room has 2 queen beds and a single sleeper sofa for a 5 person capacity which is great for those larger families. The amount of counter space was perfect, and having the added vanity area outside of the bathroom was a great addition. The spacious bathroom, beautiful closets, coffee area, mini fridge, 2 robes, 2 pairs of slippers, bathroom necessities, steamer, safe and more are all available for your use inside the room. Speaking of useful additions… this room had 12! Yes 12! Accessible outlets. That’s 2 standard plugs each(24 total!), and most had a USB and USB-C port as well. We all know how important it is to keep our electronics charged, and make sure we don’t miss out on those lightning lanes! This room was close to the marina, Gasparillos Island, and the convention center. Learn more about this incredible Deluxe resort as I highlight dining, amenities and more this weekend!

The next stop was boarding Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas. With just a short 1 hour drive from Orlando you can be at Port Canaveral and start the next phase of your vacation! This ship is spectacular! The amenities are endless! I stayed in a 4 person balcony stateroom that overlooked Central Park. This area of the ship has park-like vibes with the sights AND SOUNDS of Central Park. The sounds of birds lightly chirping in the morning and throughout the day really made this area of the ship immersive. Coming up are some more details about what this ship has to offer!
