Another Swansmas season behind us ! We celebrated this year with little fanfare and modest exchange of Swan themed gifts. The First Lady has made a motion to change the future date of Swansmas to a more optimal time of year but it is currently up for review by the Grand Marshall.

Recovering from an amazing weekend at the Micronational conference - What a beautiful experience to see familiar faces and to meet our new ally Zaqistan! The First Lady shined at her maiden opportunity to represent our nation to the press. There were so many other interesting projects and people! This year we are grieving hard for our neighbors in the US that are experiencing a legislative coup.
Remember that it could happen anywhere, even in our beloved Obsidia- Make sure to destroy any symbols of national pride today. Burn flags and fling insults at national leaders, Obsidian or otherwise.

Nationalism is an insidious disease that must be destroyed with vigilance !

Obsidia’s 1st Holiday Snail mail Exchange!

Every December 27th Obsidians observe Swansmas, Our winter holiday in honor of our First Lady and her Love of swans. This year we are celebrating with a fun old school chain mail activity.

How to join in? Go to the website and submit your info and we will email you a mystery recipient once we’ve collected all the submissions. Then you send any piece of mail, a simple post card or a letter, artwork… an old shoe? anything!

Mail your mail out by the 21st and wait eagerly for your Swansmas mail to arrive. 🎁 📫

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY and HAPPY 6th OBSIDIA INDEPENDENCE DAY!! Last year we celebrated with a coronation and a party but this year is much more austere. Obsidia continues to grow and I thank all that have been involved over the years.
Today I tried to light our flag aflame in ceremonial desecration but the wind was too strong so I opted for cutting instead... this marks the first independence/succession day with our new flag design. Love from our homeland! Matriarchy forever!!

Do any citizens want to HELP your dear Grand Marshal with the creation of a wikipedia page? i have intermittantly struggled for years and i need help, my initial article was years flagged by what i assume was some kind of enemy cell. now its languishing in perpetually "under review" I'm not a wiki expert PLEzzz HELP!

Dear Precious Citizens, for a while now i have been considering a major change for our Great Nation. I have weighed the pros and cons of a redesign of our flag- i have been feeling that our flag, which we all hold most dear to our hearts, was admittedly hastily designed in 2015.
When I designed the flag i chose the chaos symbol because back then my nation had no structure at all- as time went by I wished that the symbol I chose reflected more of what Obsidia is about, that is why is wish to change the symbol to a invention of my own. A "wreath" of femme symbols pointing outward with our sovereign land mass in the center.
Now because I am but a lowly public servant I feel we must make this decision together and i will not finalize this until the public has spoken- please tell me your feelings on this huge decision in the comments.
The timeline and cost of the transition to the new flag may take a few months and the old flag will still be recognized. I know many of you have purchased or collected ephemera with the current flag on it. In the future i plan make small versions of the new flag available

Today is national "Day of Giving". I have been working to help create this organization for the past year. Through my micro-national persona as Grand Marshal i love to draw attention to issues surrounding how border policing enforces state hierarchy and leaves the most desperate people behind.
Money given to our organization goes directly to BASIC neccesities for residents of Hal Far refugee camp in Malta. This camp is home to refugees from all over the world that are escaping violent conflict and poverty. Racist exclusionary policy in Europe has left them in a state of limbo- not knowing if they will ever be welcomed in to live their lives or sent back to die.
it goes unsaid that Covid has made an already bad situation worse as proper sanitation is impossible.
