I don’t know who might benefit from this story - but here it is….
When my big kids (now 18!) were little bitty, I couponed so we could make ends meet - I was really good at it, but completely burned out and when we didn’t “need” to, I stopped for close to a decade.
With things getting so expensive recently and husband and I both having less and less freelance work, I somehow found myself on the couponing side of TikTok.
Guys - some of you may know this already, but for those of you that don’t - couponing is stupid easy now. Literally just an ap on your phone - no need to cut coupons - and there are whole pages dedicated to showing you the deals of the week.
I didn’t want to get involved with every store like I used to - but I now coupon once a week at cvs.
This all cost $6 out of pocket - I had “extra bucks” and coupons applied so it all cost $6 of my cold hard cash.
But - I also got $17 in “extra bucks” back and got $1 in Ibotta.
I don’t buy every deal - my family will never buy a fabric softener or plug in air freshener. This cereal isn’t something I typically buy but it was 50 cents and kids will really enjoy topping yogurt with it as a treat.
I made a “boo basket” for our college student that included her favorite drug store conditioner and make up that I got for free a couple weeks back - I’ve gotten toilet paper, body wash, protein bars, razors, deodorant, toothpaste- etc - all things we need for next to nothing the last month or so. Sometimes it is literally free. Sometimes I get paid to take it out of the store.
Here is an Ibotta referral code (I do not work for Ibotta but we BOTH get $7 actual cash back if you use the referral code!) https://ibotta.onelink.me/iUfE/8cc13c64?friend_code=aavupfa
Anyways - times are a little crazy and this helps us and I hope it might help someone else!
