Frontier Military Historic Byway The Frontier Military Scenic Byway is a 168-mile
ribbon of history across the Kansas landscape within
the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area.

Originally built to move soldiers and supplies, the
Military Trail has watched American history unfold. Travel through time, visiting multiple forts along the Frontier Military Historic Byway. Highway 69, you'll find various landmarks including Fort Leavenworth and Fort Scott, historical gems like the John Brown Museum and Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm, plus fantastic places to shop, dine and stay. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Marais des Cygnes Massacre Park and Mine Creek Battlefield hold historical value from the turbulent times of "Bleeding Kansas" and the Civil War. Also along the route, hear legends and see monuments that memorialize history across the Kansas landscape.

Our 3rd and final baseball game of the season is happening this Saturday, the 17th, at noon! Get a feel for historic equipment, uniforms, and lingo! See how the rules of the game have changed and check out how Civil War soldiers relaxed in camp after a long day's march. Come take a swing or practice your cheering! Huzzah!
