Tignes offers some of the best snowboarding and skiing in the world. Tignes is a group of villages that form a high-altitude ski resort in the French Alps, near the Italian border. Together with neighbouring Val d'Isère, it forms the Tignes – Val d'Isère ski area. The proximity of two resorts offers one of the most seamless links between ski areas in Europe, in effect creating a single skiable area of over 300 square kilometers. Fun fact: Tignes was the freestyle skiing venue for the 1992 Winter Olympics
