Stunning!

What an incredible night it was, watching the beautiful crescent moon pass through the clouds in the night sky eventually setting into a bed of fog over Lake Crescent. The amount of preparation and patience it took me to finally get this composite photo of the crescent moon over my favorite, crescent shaped lake, makes me understand that being forced to wait on something CAN be a great thing if you use that time to plan for it!! The lights from the cars passing along highway 101 really put the size of the large mountains around the lake into perspective. I was really lucky that not only did the clouds finally part enough to get a clear shot of the moon, but the residual fog created a crown like halo over the moon, almost as if it was rewarding me for my perseverance 🥰
