He's playing with his Jolly Ball. It's like a tether ball that he carries around and swings to his heart's content. I get him a new one every month because he plays with them until the rope comes out. ❤️

We have a rare opening in the schedule in December! You can stay up until December 19th in the ohana for $200 per night! That's a savings of $50 per night! (plus taxes and fees - sorry, the state of Hawai'i won't waive taxes).
Come see the once in a lifetime beautiful new lava flow of Māuna Loa. We can see the fissure that's sending out the lava from the lanai. 🌋
Come see the humpback whales that have arrived for the winter. 🐋
Or just come to escape the cold weather where you live! 🏖️☀️

An upheaval in our animal world, but this one is wonderful news - yet bittersweet.

We had some great guests stay in the ohana this past week who adored all of the animals. They have 8 cats and have set up their home with high shelves, ladders, walkways...a veritable jungle gym for kitties! They loved Lexi and visited him in his garage apartment several times a day.

They wanted to adopt him! ❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday was hectic getting a rabies shot, health certificate, and a new carrier. American wouldn't allow him on their flight last night, so the wife canceled her ticket and bought one on another airline! They are flying out this morning on Hawaiian airlines!

We are sad to see him go, but utterly thrilled that he's going to a home with lots of love and attention. He deserves more than living alone in the garage.

Kohala Loke Lani recently got a new, super comfortable sofa and recliner! They have been upholstered in traditional Hawaiian bark cloth and bring a fun, tropical feel into the ohana. 🌺

It's impossible to have a favorite animal in the ocean, but the octopus is certainly among my top three! I can watch one octopus for an entire dive and not think I missed out on seeing anything else. This is the progression of a beautiful octopus leaving one outcrop and heading to another...I love the way her tentacles and body move. 🐙💕

The ocean has been incredibly generous lately. From manta rays to sharks to octopuses to turtles...it's been a pleasure to spend time under the water.
This gorgeous (normally shy) spotted eagle ray spent over five minutes swimming with me!
As Plato so wisely stated, "The sea cures all ailments of man."

Great weekend out on the water on our new Zodiac! It only recently arrived on the island after being shipped here from the mainland. We're looking forward to fantastic times on the ocean.

When frightened or unsure jump onto the high ground and watch the suspicious item intently.
If unable to get to higher ground, fluff up your body and fan out your tail feathers in an intimidating manner.
