The Girlz have a few lambs up for discussion

Southdown purebred born 4-7-24. Attached is copy of his twins registration. He can be registered or left unregistered

2- BFX ewe lambs. Both out if a blacklist son. One out of a Blacklist ewe

Then a BFX ram lamb. Blacklist son. A triplet.

Pm for more information. All 4 inside show barn on feed.

The Girlz had a little fun in SWVA today. Spent the morning showing at Dad’s home town… Carroll County Agricultural Fair.

Great Job Abigail po***ck spending time with the kids and encouraging them!

Charlotte was Champion Junior Showman

- her and Lottie won their market class Hired Hand ewe lamb ( Sponaugle Livestock bought at Showcase Sale)

-char and Blaine were reserve in their class and reserve overall Heavyweight market lamb

Lilly was champion Intermediate Showman

- both her lambs were 3rd in class.

- Alan ( Ocean Eyes Southdown) had his first round in showmanship! They did great!!!

They also were able to spend time with their Cousin AJ.. they are planning his debut in little britches classes next year.

These 2 workrd their tails off yesterday for 4 plus hours AI’ing over 75 sheep. They took care of shots, spraying incision sites, helped with sterilization on prep side, rolled carts, etc.

3 kids ages 10-15 were all in. Only 6 of those ewes belonged to them! The rest were helping out others.

They met Mr. & Mrs. Neff from. Neff Livestock.

Fingers crossed on some more Chief lambs and hopefully a few Blue Duck ones…

They had a good first night of 2024 NRV fair!

Both had blue ribbon in the photo contest!

They helped a new 4H member enter the ring for first time! She had a 2nd and 3rd in commercial Ewe classes!

Really proud of these 2…..

LillyB was 3rd overall senior showman
- her fitting team made the finals
-she was in final 5 of the 1st day showmanship contest

Charlotte ( aka Scarlet) was 3rd overall intermediate showman
-her fitting team made the finals( using Lottie)
-she was in final 13 of day 1 showmanship tournament

Plus they were helping other kids and working their tails off!!

Huge thank you to Chastin Leggett and the all-star group of counselors! Without them these accomplishments would not be possible.

Well the Virginia crew came to play in Georgia at YGB… 10 total kids participating from Virginia…

Winner in 1st showmanship challenge in morning

Then when they had their big showmanship contest at end of day…

6 were in the finals…

5 made it to top 13 ( charlotte B was in there for top 13)

3 to top 9

2 in the top 5. ( they did not win… but dang they laid it all out there) Lilly B was one of them!!

Super proud of all the Virginia kids! Especially Lilly B and Charlotte! They were down after Augusta Saturday! Neither made it out of heat rounds.

Maybe that 15 hour marathon helped! All those top kids in final round was At Augusta Saturday!

Reserve Champion Southdown wether with Alan for Lilly ( home grown Ocean Eyes x Fancy)

Fun memories with Show friends.

Best part was Charlotte running back to say her cousin won the market goat show. People ask me about AGR and the impact…. Well there is another impact… the girls refer to all children of brothers as cousins. So they were pumped that Preston Wydner won. On a given day there will be 13 or more “cousins “ at a show.

Wether you took a banner home, finished dead last, or somewhere in the middle these events are there to teach this generation of young agriculturalist that we as a community need to support each other. Doesn’t cost anything to cheer and clap!

13.5 hours at show grounds.. 12.5 of that in “show” and we left half way through the market lamb show.

Plus the 3.5 hours of travel time… long day! Atleast we had more rain!☔️

BowmanGirlZ had a hot fun day in Doswell yesterday for Mayhem At The Meadow. Thank you Rob French and crew for all your hard work and effort to make this a great experience for all the kids!

The Girlz took goats out for the first time since State Fair last October.

Thanks to Double H Show Goats for breeding such great does and providing the girls the opportunity to show them! They had fun!

Lilly B had 3rd overall lightweight Doe
She way 8th in intermediate showmanship
Had a 2nd in class Ewe lamb with Luna
Was right on the edge on making cut in sheep showmanship per the judges comments

Charlotte was 9th in junior Sheep Showmanship and her doe was 4th in its class.

Was a really hot long day!

Day 3 of showing..

Yearling Dorsets.. dang those classes are deep. Both ours placed at NAILE in top 11 in their class. They look great to us. Best Ewe lambs we have raised but we were in the first waive cut. But they smiled and had a blast!

The spring ewe lamb we brought was the youngest ewe lamb there. She is right at 90 days right now going against lambs 6 weeks older… well we finally had a first pulled lamb. But they team showed her so all smiles!

Now we wait for closing ceremonies!

Well we thought Dr Greiner liked us then he sent us down a back Alley to a side door entrance… was a little sketchy…

But Crunchy’s was awesome!!! Pac Man, pinball machines, ok now we see why Dr G hung out there during his Livestock coaching days!

Then we hit up the MSU dairy store for some ice cream! Thanks for that suggestion Lori Greiner!

We drove through campus and stopped by Spartan Stadium. Pretty cool it is 100 years old!

Day 2…..

5 trips through the ring today… ( and to our showing friends in VA with 100 degrees plus… was 77 here today, 😎🇺🇸)

2 yearling Southdowns ( first time showing a yearling)

No lambs finished last in class which for us was big accomplishment! The yearlings have not been clipped since NAILE so a little woolly and living in pasture and eating corn verse show feed

The SD judge liked frame sheep as he stated so our Texas Downers will just not compete.

It was proven based on our one ewe lamb that is a Forsee lamb placed highest of our SD lambs

Luna placed 11th in her class of 20ish. She was in a class of 2/1/24 birth and later. She was 2 days from the youngest. So by far the greenest. LillyB and her did great!!! She is a 3/12 birthdate so a lot of the lambs in her class were a month older..

Charlotte was in a class of 28 kids.

First showmanship class for Lottie and her!

They were pulled 5th in that huge class!

They were in the ring 30 minutes

They also did team showmanship as sisters. Only the top team was placed, but they did get several looks as she picked her winner.

Lilly B had a good morning. Did not get pulled to top 5 but she showed great. There were 20 kids in the 6 month age bracket of her class

This was Luna’s first run at showmanship! Best she has looked all year!

I think she will be her showmanship partner for the foreseeable future!
