Look up!!

Tonight, look for the northern sky’s 2 most prominent sky patterns: the constellation the Queen and the . Cassiopeia and the Big Dipper circle around , the North Star, once a day, every day. What’s more, they are opposite each other, one on either side of the . Watch this celestial clock and its 2 great big hour hands - Cassiopeia and the Big Dipper - as they swing around the North Star each and every night! 🌌

We used to (probably still do) call them “Caterwaller” because of the sound. Endangered for sure. The illegal release of Python, Iguana and other invasive species have created havoc in the Everglades and Florida ecosystems. The Florida Panther is such a magnificent animal!!

Save the date: 1/13/25 for Grand Junction session

The BLM is developing its “Blueprint for 21st Century Outdoor Recreation”, which it intends to use as its guide for future management.

The initial rollout of the effort only included 4 meetings in Colorado for public engagement. The first meeting was last week in Denver where we welcomed recognition of the decades of partnerships between the BLM and the motorized community in Colorado, such as the trail work day pictured here with the Motorcycle Trail Riding Association and the BLM Grand Junction Field Office.

The TPA expressed concerns that many public land users would not be able to participate in this important process and has been requesting additional meetings. The BLM in Colorado has listened and is rolling out a public engagement meeting in every BLM Field Office in the state. The next meeting will be in Grand Junction and will be available in person and virtually.

The meeting schedule is still a work in progress, so stay tuned for the Grand Junction meeting details and for upcoming dates in the other regions. We hope the BLM in other states follow this as a model for stakeholder engagement.
