Good information. Deer move fast
Drive safely

Encountering deer or other wildlife while driving on our local roads and highways can be a frightening -- and even dangerous -- experience. We're happy to provide the following tips to help keep drivers AND critters safe.

• Slow down. Avoid collisions with wildlife by slowing down and observing the speed limit. This gives you more time to brake if an animal darts in your path.
• Use your eyes. Don’t rely solely on hood whistles and other devices to scare away deer. At night, look for glowing eyes of animals in the distance.
• Be on your highest alert at dusk and dawn. This is when many animals are most active. Deer are most active between 6 and 9 p.m.
• Use your brights. Don’t be afraid to use your high-beams, as they will increase your visibility. Be courteous and turn them off for oncoming cars.
• Where there’s one, there’s more. Deer travel in herds. If you spot one, another is likely right behind.
• Wear your seat belt. This might seem like a no-brainer, but it’s worth repeating. Severe injuries caused by deer/vehicle collisions can often be avoided by wearing your seat belt.

Save the date for 2019!
Great day, so many talented people all in beautiful Murphys.

Dia de Los Mu***os 2018 in Murphys was a great success!
We enjoyed hosting so many people in our little town and loved seeing the participation of all the small local businesses. Seeing all the families who came to town to celebrate their loved ones is why we do this every year.

Hosting so many people successfully in our small community couldn't happen without a few dedicated people that care for this town.

We would like to specially thank Michelle Plotnik, Sue Dellett Friedman, Nanette Tanner, Catherine Carnahan, Frank Sanchez & Mary Lou Schuster and everyone who dedicated so much time to making it all happen. The full list is too big to thank everyone without whom we couldn't have pulled it all together.

Looking forward to next year, our 10th anniversary! November 2nd, 2019
