took this one little 5’8 asymmetric surfboard all around the world last year but our interest didn’t really pique until he rocked up to Kandui last Goofy-Season. On his first session at hideaways (2nd slide), he did this combo and then the next day packed this bomb at Kandui Left (3rd slide). We had to know more.

We came into 2024 with huge expectations with a post El Nino year and 2024 did not disappoint. With an incredible early season of March/April, then one of the best May/Junes we’ve ever seen, July took a breather, then Aug with the best Goofy-Season swell in years, a super active Sept and then the biggest October swell in a decade.

Early-Season Kandui - May 17, 2024
Kandui Left typically does not wake up till June/July but 2024 had one of the best runs of swells we've ever seen for the month of May. With super light winds, countless days went down at pumping Kandui Left with a plenty of pumping rights mixed in.

Shoulder-Season is Here and Ifran is Back

If you don’t remember Ifran had a massive wipeout at Padang Padang in Bali on Aug 7 that resulted in shattering his femur bone in 2 different places. He had emergency surgery and had a long road back to the water but he made it back over the last week or so. He’s still at 50% and doing his weekly physical therapy but all signs point to him being back to 100% in early 2025.

Thanks to everyone who donated to Ifran’s GoFundMe! Your donations allowed Ifran to get the best care and physical therapy and be on the path back to normal. Judging by this video, he’s well on his way so thanks again everyone!

October is a transition month and where our winds are switching from the Goofy-Season (lefts) to our Shoulder-Season (rights). During October you tend to see some lingering bigger swells with winds favoring the lefts for the first half and fun size swells starting to favor the rights towards the end of the month. Great month for a mix of both lefts and rights.

The Indian Ocean is on fire.
While Sept was a bit slow for the big stuff, October has exploded. We’re currently getting blasted with swell over the last couple days and good news, there’s plenty more on the way.

The Indian Ocean is in a great place at the moment with one of the bigger swells of the year in route for next week and the rest of the month is looking super good. Overall, we have high expectations for October so if you’re free, jump on it.
