Rich in history and social significance, The Miss Gay Ohio America Pageant has maintained a tradition of "Excellence" for four decades. The Miss Gay Ohio America Organization has empowered female impersonators to achieve their personal and professional goals while providing a forum in which to express their talents, administrative skills and intelligence. In conjunction with the State Pageant, The
Miss Gay Ohio America Organization hosts a multitude of preliminary pageants throughout the state of Ohio as a way of networking and scouting for the lucky individual who will become the next Miss Gay Ohio America. The Miss Gay Ohio America Pageant is one of the oldest running preliminaries to the Miss Gay America Pageant. Since 1973 thirty lucky young men have captured this most prestigious title, one of them twice. An estimated five hundred entertainers have entered into local preliminaries and or competed at Miss Gay Ohio America making Ohio one of the largest preliminaries to Miss Gay America. In 1991 John Kemmer started what would be a seven year run as the promoter for Miss Gay Ohio America. Almost two hundred young men competed in those years and the seven lucky competitors who were crowned were incredible additions to our family. Ashley Ann Summers, Tamara Demore, Champagne Bordeaux, Brazon, Darah Landon, Ariel DuVois and Erica Rae O'Hara captured the titles. Sadly we would lose three of our shining stars, Ashley Ann and Brazon were victims of horrible crimes and Tamara lost her battle with illness. Tommy George and Sebastian took Miss Ohio through the next three years crowning Vivi Velure, Erica Martinez and Virginia West. In the year 2001, Danny Spears and Purple Pump Productions took over the franchise and had a great three year run as promoters. Danny being a former local promoter and former contestant brought his knowledge and experience and crowned Kiarra Cartier Fontaine, Paige Passion and Tiffanie Taylor before relinquishing the reigns. In 2004 Tina Schumacher and Jerry Baer took Miss Gay Ohio America through the next three years and while the national promoters changed Miss Ohio stayed steady crowning Erika Evans, Joey Wynters and Krystal Stone. In 2006 T&A Entertainment, Tiffanie Taylor and Aron Aranda, bought the franchise and made Miss Gay Ohio America one of the most sought after titles in Ohio. Throughout these years they expeienced great success: being awarded with State Preliminary of the Year by Victoria Depaula, promoting the first Miss Ohio in over a decade to make the Top 10 at Nationals, and purchasing a regional preliminary. T&A's time as promoters put Ohio back on the map and gave everyone a reason to be proud. Starting with the 2010 pageant season, Aron Aranda branched off on his own to continue growing the business and ensure that Miss Gay Ohio America remains at the top. It all started with the first young man crowned Miss Ohio under Believe Entertainment, Diamond Hunter. Together they tackled all the challenges they faced as they Believed in a "Brand New Day." Diamond helped build Miss Ohio and inspired other new female impersonators to join the family. His year culminated with the crowning of Deva Station. As the second man crowned under this endeavor, Deva has taken the Miss Ohio America brand to a new level. In 2012 Selena Terrace-West captured the title, followed by Britney Blaire in 2013, who because the fourth first-time contestant in a row to take the title! Sadly in May of 2013 the Miss Gay Ohio America Family lost our Friend and Sister,
KiArra Cartier Fontaine, Miss Gay Ohio America 2002.
