Reston Association’s Covenants Department’s next Meet and Greet outreach event is scheduled for Monday, August 26th at 6pm at the Reston Association’s Lake House (11450 Baron Cameron Avenue, Reston, VA 20190).

This will include an informative discussion on the topic of community association management facilitated by presenters from SmartStreet Banc of California.

Discussion will include (but not be limited to):

· Assessment Collection (lockbox, etc.) and Cash Flow
· Investment Options (what’s available and diversification) – What is a MM, CD, etc.
· Loans for projects (options and when should loans be considered)
· Financial reporting requirements/Banking requirements for associations; and
· Lessons learned/Best practices from current association partners


The evening’s presentation will be followed by Q & A and attendee networking; food and beverages will be provided.

Many of you know that I volunteer in a number of places around town. But the schools are always in need.

South Lakes High School PTSA throws an All Night Grad Party (ANGP) for the Seniors. It is an amazing party but requires a lot of hands to make light work. For a number of reasons, volunteers need to be 21+. Some exceptions can be granted on a case-by-case basis, but students are NOT allowed to volunteer. The idea is that Seniors are "wowed" by the party and therefore students cannot participate.

ANGP is in desperate need of volunteers (there is a sign-up for items too). While the party is 10:30pm - 4:30am on Friday June 7th, volunteers are needed for shifts June 6th - 8th and as early as 3pm on the 7th. While I am up all night, you don't have to be. So PLEASE look at the sign-up genius and pick a shift that works for you.

I am so excited to share that Virgin Voyages is offering 4 cruises out of NYC in September 2025.

2 are 5 nights to Bermuda and back
1 is roundtrip and includes Mass., Maine, and Canada (8 nights)
The last is out of NYC and ends in Quebec (10 nights)

So excited to see the RA BOD tree all lit up at Winterfest 2023 this weekend. Got to see a number of the trees decorated today and they are all wonderful. Some are super creative.

The event is free for Reston Association members, but registration is required. Avoid the line and register in advance.

If you come Thursday evening stop by the What The Schnitzel truck for delicious food and to say hi to me. I'll be in the truck helping after 6pm.
