We were in Antigua yesterday (we had a schedule change...more on that later) and I toured 2 beautiful resorts. Curtain Bluff and Carlisle Bay are both in the same neighborhood but each have their own unique vibe and ammenities. Both have stunning ocean views 🤩 and offer extra perks for booking with me.

Today was a work day in port...I toured the beautiful Body Holiday resort in St. Lucia. Several of you have stayed here and I see why you loved it. This is a wellness focused all-inclusive resort (one spa treatment is even included per day). They also have a lot of included activites so you can be as active...or as relaxed as you want yo be. You receive additional perks for booking with me...please let me know if you are interested 😊

A great couple of days in port. Yesterday we hiked in Nevis and had lunch on a beautiful beach. Today we had a private guide show us Dominica...we did a 2.5 challenging hike, swam through a gorge to a waterfall and ended with a stop in one of the hot springs.

We are onboard our Windstar cruise and about to sail away. I love the Windstar experience...the staff are so friendly and I feel at home right away. With less than 350 people on board, everything is easy and never crowded. We are in Nevis tomorrow.

A very long day, but I made it to Sint Maarten. Coming from the west coast, many people don't realize that you often have to take a red eye (overnight) flight to the east coast to take the second flight to the Caribbean. I had over 5 hours in Atlanta (from 4:45am until my flight left around 10:30). I used Minute Suites for the first time--you rent a tiny room with a sofa and pull out bed so you can sleep/relax. My husband and I fit fine and had a good 3 hour nap. We have tomorrow to explore before boarding a Windstar cruise on Saturday.

I always post this time of year about Wave Season---the time where cruise lines typically offer the best sales. There are some good deals to be had if you are flexible, but cruises are more full than they have been in years. Estimates show that about 2/3 of the available cruise cabins are already booked for 2025, so there aren't going to be an amazing deals. I know several of you have contacted me for 2025 sailings and have been disappointed because the sailing you wanted was already sold out. Most cruise lines have 2026 sailings open to book, so if you are really set on certain dates or destinations, it may be a good time to lock in a 2026 cruise....if not, 2025 will still work if you are open to some different ideas (like sailing to Antarctica last minute or sailing in the shoulder season in Europe). Photos of the some of the ships I've been on for inspiration :)

As we look forward to 2025, I hope you are dreaming and planning of lots of travel 🌎✈️⛵️ I am thankful and grateful to all of you for making 2024 another successful year for Unraveled Travel. I enjoy planning all of your adventures and this year you kept me on my toes by traveling to 57 countries! I love that you love to explore as much as I do ❤️ I'm not sure what all 2025 holds for me travel wise, but I do know I am starting the year off right on a Windstar cruise to the Caribbean in mid January---no days at sea, just a lot of great smaller ports (St. Bart's, Guadalupe, Nevis, Dominica, St. Kitts and Pigeon Island).

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! My best gift was sleeping straight through until almost 5am 🥳🥳 Not bad for my 2nd night back. Jet lag is real but SO worth it to see the world 🌍

After a quick 2 weeks, I'm headed home. This was my view from my hotel room in Paris last night. I often stay at airport hotels the night before a flight because it makes traveling so much easier...bed to check in counter in 10 minutes 😊 There are double windows so you don't hear a thing.

Back to a more uplifting post...and food photos😋 I had a fun day exploring Zagreb. I am staying right in the city center and everything is a 10-15 walk. The Christmas market is nice...but still doesn't compare to most German markets (no matter what many top 10 lists say 😊).

Sometimes travel can make you uncomfortable...yes, physically...but I'm talking mentally. I spent yesterday in Srebrenica where one of the largest acts of genocide took place in July 1995.. over 8,000 people were killed here in just over one week. It is unimaginable...but some of the soilders filmed some of the killing so little is left to the imagination 😢

Today I learned about the siege of Sarajevo that went on for years. Places where people were killed are now marked with "Sarajevo roses"....red paint on the ground. I visited the Tunnel of Hope--a tunnel used to move goods, weapons and injured people from one side of the city to the other. Bosnia controlled one side and the Serbs were trying for years to take the other part. Thousands of people died in Sarajevo--nearly all from random sniper and mortar attacks. My driver was shot and injured during an attack.

The theme through most of the people I spoke to about these events was resilience. We have to hope that history will not repeat itself....

I arrived in Bosnia Herzogovenia yesterday and I've been on a fast pace--visited Blagaj, Koćuŝa waterfalls and Mostar yesterday. I spent the night in Mostar and loved the city. I came back to Sarajevo today and am going to Srebrenica tomorrow.

Great day in Paris...I took the non-stop flight from Phoenix and not having a layover is a huge help. Traffic in Paris is getting worse and it took about 1 hour 15 min to get to my hotel in Le Marais. Enjoyed walking aound the city, seeing the outside of Notre Dame (tickets are impossible to get at the moment), visiting a Christmas market and having one of the best meals I've ever had in Paris. Now to sleep...I'm taking the train to Germany tomorrow.

Those of you in Arizona---this is a cause close to my heart. There are a couple of Unraveled Travel baskets on this auction, plus lots of other great items.

The auction benefits Community Paws. The auction closes on December 15th at 3pm and you can pick up items that day in Buckeye (Verrado). We have lots of unique things for dogs, cats and people. Too much to post here, but there is Loch Lomond Scotch Whiskey that is only available in Scotland, a lottery scratch off bundle, massage gift certificate, autographed baseball items...

My blog is up for Moorea and honestly this was one of the most awe inspiring experiences of my life. You can only snorkel with the whales here during a short season, but it is a great event to plan your trip around. Thank you so much to Anna for sharing her amazing photos (she is asagatov on IG and does underwater photography professionally in case you are looking for someone).

This is NOT stock photo. This is Anna's photo from our snorkeling experience. This is what you can see on Moorea which is why you can understand why I was in awe.

I chose to fly to Tahiti from Rangiora and then take the ferry so I could experience it. The ferry terminal is about 10 minutes from the airport and the ferry terminal area opens up about 30...

I'm participating in an on-line networking event to meet new hoteliers and get updates from my contacts at my preferred cruise lines, tours companies and hotels this week. Why does this matter to you? Since I have preferred status with most of the luxury brands of travel (Four Seasons, Auberge, Belmond, Silversea, Regent....the list goes on), I have access to exclusive perks or early access to many sales. This is true for many Black Friday sales---I just quoted a cruise for a client where my preferred savings gave them an additional $10k discount bringing the total of a luxury 19-night sailing to $17k (for 2 people). That is a HUGE discount for that price range of sailing 🤩 Knowing the names behind the business also allows me to connect on a personal level which translates into more personalized service for your stay. As not to play favorites, I'm using a neutral beautiful photo to grab your attention :)

I'm a bit behind on some blog posts---just posted about my March trip to Italy. I'm posting now because 2025 is going to be a popular year to visit Italy. The Pope announced that this will be a Jubilee year---this is in simple terms a religious pilgrimage and many of the holy sites in Italy (especially Rome and Vatican City) will be stops along the pilgrims route. If Italy is on your list for 2025, please contact me soon so we can make arrangements while there is still availability for hotels and guides.
