My first helicopter ride was AMAZING! I felt totally safe...and in awe almost every moment. The tour I booked included time walking on the glacier which I 100% recommend.

Our first port stop today in Ketchikan. They get around 13 feet of rain each year so I feel grateful that while it rained this morning and is back to raining now...the 5 hours I was out kayaking and on a Zodiac was nice. Saw this beautiful rainbow from my balcony.

Today might have been the most perfect weather day...upper 70's and sunny ☀️ Another wonderful day in Vancouver. Started the day on Granville Island with a famous Lee's honey dip donut, took the False Island Ferry, visited the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden (that had this beautiful venting window) and ended the day on a sea safari from Horseshoe Bay with Sewell's Marina. The truffles were a welcome gift at the Fairmont.

Loving Vancouver so far. I'm so glad I'm staying 3 nights before my cruise as the city (and surrounding area) has so much to offer. Today I went to Vancouver Lookout and walked through beautiful Stanley Park (and have been enjoying the Fairmont Gold Club complete with an outdoor deck). I'm thinking of going on a whale watching or other nature cruise tomorrow...

Occupational hazard...I've had clients looking at Alaska last minute for this summer and I found a great deal that I couldn't pass up :) I've been to Antarctica, but never Alaska....so here I go! I'm sailing on the new Silversea Nova from Vancouver to Seward. I even booked the helicopter excursion to the Mendenhall Glacier....although I'm scared of heights and have never been in a helicopter 😳 Travel sometimes makes you do crazy things...and for sure forces you out of your comfort zone (in a good way!). Anyone else want to explore Alaska this year?

Clients in Arizona...the Air France non-stop flight to Paris started last week and Air France is very happy with the response🥳 Tickets are selling well. As of now, the flight only goes a few times a week. If we can show that there is a large demand for this flight, they will (hopefully!) expand it to additional days. So....who wants to go to Paris....or fly through Paris en route to somewhere else? 🙂

Another destination that many of you are asking about is French Polynesia (which used to be called Tahiti---Tahiti is now only used to refer to one island). Since I have only switched planes there once back in 2003 I decided it was time I went and checked it out for myself....so I can help you plan and decide what islands to visit :) I'll be visiting Tahiti, Bora Bora, Rangiroa and Moorea and my husband is diving on Fakarava in September (while I'm on Moorea). Does anyone else have French Polynesia on their list?

My ship tour of Explora 1 did not disappoint. The ship is beautiful and the suites are large---even the entry level options. The ship is laid out in a way that no one place never gets crowded. So much is included in your cruise fare that Explora is an excellent value---5 restaurants are included, as are all drinks, wifi (with Starlink...so it is fast), the wellness center, staff gratuities and entertainment on board. You do have to pay extra for shore excursions, one speciality dining option and spa treatments. Now is a great time to try this cruise line....they are having some great sales until July 30th. I have the privilege of touring and having lunch on the Explora 1 ship next Monday. Explora Journeys is a luxury cruise line that is more hotel-like than many other cruise options. The ship holds 992 guests, so it is a bit larger of a ship, but they do have more options on board than many other luxury cruise ships (like 12 lounges and bars). The ship is new and just started sailing last year. I will post photos next week. Please let me know if you are interested in sailing with Explora Journeys.

Each year I tend to get different travel requests....and they come in groups. This year is the year of Galapagos :) If Galapagos is on your list, this sale is a good way to get there at a reduced price. That doesn't mean the trip is inexpensive, but with a buy one, get one free offer (2nd person only pays taxes and fees, based on double occupancy), you can save upwards of $10K+ (one client just saved about $15k and paid just under $17k total for 11 days).

If you want a glimpse of some of the awe inspiring scenery I experienced last summer in Greenland, watch Arctic Ascent on National Geographic. I didn't watch it for the climbing part....I watched it for the scenery :) There is still space for some dates this summer to glamp in Greenland. It was truly one of my best trips ever! Total change of pace from Milan. It is always a great idea to slow down the pace for a few days while in Italy. Combine cities with places like this (Lake Garda) or the Dolomites (where I visited most recently last fall). I am off to Rome on Monday but until then I am savoring every relaxing moment.

An amazing day with a private guide seeing how Parmesean cheese and balsalmic vinegar is made. My guide selected small, family owned and organic options. I learned so much today...like balsamic vinegar is a perfect match for creama gelato 😋 The Bologna area is perfect for foodies and you could spend a week here tasting all this region has to offer.

Went to the Eiffel Tower for the first time since 2009 today. I know many of you don't believe me when I say this can take up to 3 to 4 hours, even with timed entrance tickets.

The timer starts when you leave your hotel. First step, going through security to enter the park (typically takes 15-20 min). Second, stand in line based on your entrance time. I got through security and into this line at 4:15 for a 4:30 entrance time. Then you enter the line for the elevator up to the 2nd level. Even with timed entry, this line still took a little over 30 min (including a second security check). Once I got to the 2nd level, then there was a line for the elevator up to the summit. I got to the summit around 5:30. I walked around and took photos...then joined the line to go down to the 2nd stage (only waited 5 minutes) and then in line to go to the bottom (took about 30 minutes). This was March and not peak season.

I have wanted to go to Bhutan for many years (as long as I can remember) and I was on a tourism board webinar recently and it highlighted why Bhutan is such a special place. Many of you may have heard that Bhutan measures Gross National Happiness, in addition to GDP. 51% of the land is protected by development by their constitution and Bhutan is actually a carbon negative country.

Bhutan is not easy to get to, but once you are there, it is such a unique and interesting destination. Who wants to go with me?
