Allegheny Motorcycle Adventures Riding in one of the greatest playgrounds a kid with a bike ever dreamed of. Guided tours available. Email [email protected] for more info. Cheers!

It's hard to put into words, the feeling one gets when they find themselves isolated on an empty road in wide open space in the highway gear, surrounded by beautiful scenery. The perspective gained, can be one of the most useful roles a motorcycle can provide. The roads here are some of the greatest playgrounds a kid with a bike ever dreamed of. Just a word of caution: enjoying endless miles witho

ut your feet touching the ground, can be addictive. If so, there are many dining and lodging options available in the area to choose from, so you don't have to leave right away. Like our page and stay tuned for all the adventures. And be sure to check out our Great Places to Ride feature each month at www.virginiarider.com and our motovideos @ www.youtube.com/!

It was a mostly cloudy, cool, blustery, visor down, kind of day in the low 40s. Liners were reluctantly zipped back in after some 70 degree days. And The Juice was on for the entire ride. All, a small price to pay to be out in the fresh air, and the peace of mind that comes with it.

Roads were fairly clear after all of the rain yesterday: all except for Wimer Mountain, which seemed to have gotten a fresh dose of cinders. Streams and rivers were rockin along with Rose's camera, which was getting a workout on our journey through Blue Grass to Meadowdale. Speaking of grass, it's turning green. And we all know what that means. Time to ride! Cheers and thanks for viewing!πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸπŸž

Our first 70 degree day in March and how lucky were Rose and I to be able to enjoy it together! No neck socks, open visors, liners out and light gloves made it especially wonderful. Bikes were everywhere, even for a Tuesday! The fresh, warm breezes along Thorn Creek and Doe Hill Roads weren't hurting matters either. Cheers and thanks for viewing!πŸ˜ƒπŸπŸžβ˜€οΈ

Fun figure 8 loop on a severe clear, gorgeous March day through three counties. Rose and I started off in Monterey and took the long way to Blue Grass from Meadowdale for lunch at the Mercantile.

After our burping πŸ€”, we continued our journey over Snowy Mountain and returned on 250 after cruising through Cherry Grove and Thornwood. Roads were mostly clear, but not entirely in Highland and Pendleton, but at elevation, things were still pretty chunky, especially on the Pocahontas side of things. We even saw some unmelted snow on northern exposures. Still great to be on the bike as little as we've been able to ride this year. And we got to leave The Juice at home for the first time. Cheers and please enjoy!πŸ˜ƒπŸπŸž

One of those severe clear days in Pendleton and Highland Counties today with temps tickling 50 degrees. I think we may have seen 48 in Franklin after the bulk of the ride through Brandywine, Siple Mountain and Reeds Creek, which may have touched 40. But the views, even as much as we've seen them time and time again, were as splendid as ever. We even saw a couple of other bikes! Cheers and thanks for viewing!πŸ˜ƒπŸ₯°πŸπŸž

Rose and I took advantage of this beautiful day and got in some much needed miles on Windy. It's been one of those months. And since we're changing the names of things, I'm changing February to Fuhquary, which is French for,,,Fuhquary. I think most riders will understand.πŸ˜‰

We stopped at the Cestari Sheep & Wool Company in Augusta Springs to get another Cab Sav they carry from Italy we enjoyed from our last visit to go with the steaks we planed on grilling this evening. Last time we were there, Rose scored some locally crafted wool boots they had marked down after trying on some hats. It's a cool building and store with lots to check out.

On our way back, we stopped at a very busy Ingalls Overlook on 39 and got a touron free pic. Roads were still a bit chunky, but the cruise in the highway gear up 220 to Monterey in Highland County was everything we hoped it would be for one last stop for charcoal. Cheers and bon appetit!πŸ˜ƒπŸŒžπŸ₯©πŸ·πŸπŸž

β˜€οΈπŸπŸπŸATTENTION EVENT COORDINATORS: Riding season is almost here & we want everyone's event to be successful! One of THE most important keys to this is the way you promote it.

FLYERS: What are the first 3 things that stand out on your event flyers? If you said the date, name of your event & the location (address, city & state), good for you!! Even though you'll have other info listed, those 3 items are THE most important to stand out. It can mean the difference between a good event & a GREAT event!

FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE: In addition to your flyer, creating a Facebook event page for your event can help you reach hundreds of riders! It not only will list all of your event info but will show your flyer & any pictures that you may want to post plus comments & questions from folks who may be interested in attending. The best part is that your event page can be shared by ANYone on Facebook with their friends or on other pages!

EVENT PAGE ON VIRGINIARIDER.COM: If you don't already see your event listed on our Events page, message us here or email your Facebook link to us at virginiaridermagazine.com. We update our events regularly so the sooner you send it, the sooner you'll see it!

It's going to be an amazing season so be safe out there & stay AWEsome!!!πŸ‘ŠπŸ˜Ž

Two days in a row with my Pillion after an entire month without riding was a slice of heaven of rare proportions. Temps were forecast to be in the mid fifties for a high, but that didn't happen until we reached Franklin and a 25 MPH speed limit. 40s and 60s were the norm everywhere else. And we were glad we brought The Juice.

Nice to see the streams, creeks and rivers dancing over the rocks again. And all of that rain we had did a nice job of cleaning the roads, which made this February ride such a treat being able to properly lean like it was May or something. What a fun day!πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸπŸž

As many of you are well aware here in this part of VA, we went from Ju**ie Season last December, straight into Just Say No January for the entire month: a rather sobering experience for anyone with seatbelt disorder.πŸ€”All is well though. Temps are on the upswing. And the rain is currently washing away the snow and cleaning the roads. Monday might tickle 60F!

In the meantime, as a former HD salesman, I found this quite interesting. It's good to see The Motor Company upping their game. I'd love to ride each of them! Cheers everyone!πŸ˜ƒ

New Harley-Davidson models include a long-haul touring bike, a street-focused adventure vehicle, and an evolved Sportster.

Rose and I took a ride up to Franklin to visit Jeff at Dry Run Spirits Distillery, and drop off some magazines with some Happy New Year wishes. While we were there, he introduced us to Krampus, who was hanging out with his vintage motorcycle collection. Stop by and see them. There's lots to check out. And later that evening, you'll have something special to toast the day with, from a special place.

Temps reached 50 on a gorgeous December day that featured something called, "The Sun." Rivers and streams seemed to have some new life with all the rain the last couple of days, but we could still use more. It even washed most of the salt off the roads making for some proper motorcycling in the corners. We hope everyone who was off, had a chance to get out and enjoy this beautiful day! Cheers everyone!πŸ˜ƒπŸπŸžπŸΉπŸŒž

Sensing we needed to pick up a few things before Christmas, I asked Rose, "Dare we take a bike ride to Franklin?" Her reply was somewhat typical, yet still surprising given the weather we've had recently, "Sure! Why not?" As some of you have known for quite some time, that mold is no longer available.

I was out of Rockstars. The gatos needed some breakfast pate and Rose, something exotic or lethal. Oh, and wine. Those bottles from Bluestone never had a chance. πŸ€ͺ We could have driven, and saved the trouble of the NASA suit-up routine, especially as bleak as it was, but what fun would that have been?

We got everything we needed, with the roads all to ourselves and had a blast. It would have been a shame to have driven. Special shout out to T&K for making a full parking lot look easy and $8.99/lb NY Strips.

Cheers, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ…πŸŽ„β˜ƒοΈπŸ
