Fun foreign flags! Some of these made me laugh out loud ie. the Albania and Cyprus ones….
Come on, throw at least a lion on there
For those who didn't grow up with travel, but now want to get going... 'LBC' = Lower Bucks County, PA. I didn't grow up with this stuff.
Not usually the 1st term that comes to mind when you think of international travel, but that's where I come in. Travel was something other people did, people we didn't know. I was vaguely interested in visiting other cultures, and I always was a bit of a history buff, but the idea of hopping on a plane and doing it...
But something happened. As I hit my mid 30s, I found myself with both the co
nfidence and means to pull it off. In the past ten years, I have been to Ireland twice, the UK twice, France twice, plus Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and China one time apiece. These were not 'hang in your downtown hotel and do the sightseeing tour' jaunts. The trips were lengthy affairs, involving planes, trains, automobiles, and even boats. I have over 1000 miles' worth of European driving experience. I have planned every aspect of the trip logistics. I have been aided along the way by my wife; her communication skills are vastly superior to my own. Maybe this sounds impressive, but the reality is that I've F'ed up constantly along the way. However, my mistakes will be your gain. I can tell you what to check out, but I can also tell you what to avoid. So please...enjoy the page, and check out the posts and pics!!

Some more from Houston and Mas' wedding.
Mas’ wedding, as well as some stuff from Galveston and Space Center Houston (aka Johnson Space Center)
Went for some food, went for some space...
Came down to Houston for a wedding, we got a wedding. Congrats to Mas and Elizabeth.
Downtown from Bad Astronaut last night.
Beers and trippy lighting here in Houston....
Oh boy…Faith just told me Taiwan-based restauranteurs Din Tai Fung are finally opening a location in NYC (midtown Manhattan). We ate there in 2017 at their Shanghai location; big LBC thumbs up.

The wildly popular Taiwanese chain inches closer to opening
Remembering on this our jaunt to Dublin and County Meath 15 years ago.
So who's comin'? I know Faith is interested...
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced on Monday the Philadelphia Eagles will be the designated team for the league's first-ever game in São Paulo, Brazil.
Food for First World thought…..
Private jet travel has surged in the US over the last few years and accounts for one in every six flights.
Holiday single I recently released called 'All Hail Saturnalia'. As the name implies, it's full of Roman Empire references. If you buy, you'll be supporting a good cause (Wounded Warrior Project). The pics are of various Roman sites in Europe and western Asia, shot by myself or Faith.
Some Remembrance Day shots, some food and drank, some hockey….
Went to Canada’s capital. Saw their parliament buildings, and also visited the Canadian War Museum while I was there. Warning: a few of the museum pics are a bit disturbing.
Wasn’t feeling great the last week, but I’m finally catching up with all these Montreal pics.
Montreal skyline from Mt. Royal. Music is something I’m working on for the holidays.
We're back home.....here's some poutine! Massive pic dump forthcoming.
Hockey Night in Canada! Couple pics from the game last night (Habs 3-2 in OT, btw).
Remembrance Day in Canada is a big deal, a far more encompassing and culturally pervasive event than our Veterans Day. People commonly wear red poppies, not only today, but throughout the week. More:
Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day owing to the tradition of wearing a remembrance poppy) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War in 1919 to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.[1] The day is also marked by war rem...
Managed to get back on Mont Royal tonight; better weather = better shots. Also stopped in Ottawa and saw Canada's parliament.
I’m a glutton for punishment. Montreal-style bagels are a thing, and I went to go grab some. Also went up on Mont Royal, the hill that gives the city its name.
You mean social media ran with an idea based on nothing but rich people anecdotes? Well I’m shocked….
With claims of sightings on the Paris metro and in theaters and hotels across the French capital – and now on the London Underground – bedbug fears are spreading in Europe. Here’s what’s really happening and what tourists need to know.
It isn’t just the passengers acting up this travel season…..
An Air Canada passenger said she witnessed two travelers in front of her get escorted off a plane for complaining about puke-covered seats.
It’s naval jet roar, reggaeton, and (surprisingly) Maghrebi/Sahel music here at today….diggin’ it.
Another Colonial Williamsburg/Busch Gardens jaunt in the books. We've been down here about a dozen times over the years.
